Mon the Biffy!
How cliche.
Biffy last night was 10 times better than Edinburgh, the guys were on form. When I first went in I was told to go to the merch stand to ask if I had a pass. I went up and asked and the guy asked who I had spoke to. I mentioned that I had emailed Neil and out came his hand. Neil! Huzzah! He is very lovely and rather sweet. He said there was no photo pit for this gig but that I was free to take photos. He even apologised for not checking his emails that day as I had sent him the Edinburgh pics. Lovely guy.
Went into the gig, spent 10 mins queueing at the bar then realised there was another one through a back room - empty. Doh!
Support were a bit pish, no idea who they were, 2 guys, 2 guitars and a drum machine.
When the biff came on me and Jen went into the thrust and got completely covered in everyone else's sweat, yum. We decided best to go up onto the raised lever bar area bit. I got to the front coz I was taking pics. Got 1 or 2 good ones, was dancing too much, haha.
Absolutely ace gig! Loved it. Still no Houses of Roofs though, shame, not that I even remotely expected it, I knew they were just humouring me.
Danced my ass off, sweated my ass off, great gig.
Tried to get some souveniers but they are well stingy, and were giving nowt away. Although I did enjoy a 10 watch of the roadie, hehe.
Spoke to Neil again at the merch stand, tried to buy a tee but they were pretty much cleaned out. He was so sweet and was searching his pockets for a souvenier for me & Jen. We were a bit excitable so kinda came off bad I think. Especially coz Jen was telling him how much we loved the roadie, hehe, who is called Adam we now know. Mon the roadie! We were the last people out of Fat Sam's, the bouncers hated us.
Steen was being a total killjoy and didn't even enjoy the gig which kinda pissed me off. There are heaps of people would have killed for her ticket and she couldn't even enjoy it. Oh and I realised I had ticket no 1 - 4 how cool is that?!
Me and Jen wanted to stick around and wait for the band / roadie but Steen wanted to go, I think Greig did too. So we left.
Drove back to the Deen (Greig drives like a woman) Got in around 1 and went to exodus!
It was full of Oasis goers (they played the AECC that night) which kinda sucked, but also a few familiar faces. Greig's unfortunately. He was monged and being a dick as usual. I really cannot stand to be around him when he's drunk. Least I got some pics of him being a mong.
Went back to Stroop's, I stayed til 3:30 or something watching a fucked up show called The Mighty Boosh. It was pretty funny, but weird.
Back to the flat and onto the net as usual.
Checked the Biffy site and Neil had posted saying they are looking for helpers for the Biffy shows in Tut's the next 4 days.
I emailed and asked if tickets were essential. If not, I hope he calls me. Screw work, Mon the Biffy!!
