If you require sleep, I wouldn't recommend this neighbourhood ;)
Firecrackers sounding like *bombs* went off around 11 pm. No worries, it didn't last long, and I went back to sleep.
Woke up around 12:30 am to the sound of yelling in the backlane directly below my window. The volume was such that my earplugs wouldn't have made a dent in the noise so, I got up to see the action. Actually, see would be the wrong description to use since the hydro was out in the block. The yelling was coming from the maintenance personnel fixing the problem. One man was up in a hydraulic box near the transformers (yelling his instructions down) to the other on the ground. Under the circumstances, I didn't feel it prudent to tell them to "SHUT UP" ;)
