Watching Downton Abbey! Thoughts on the first three episodes!

(Preface: the chances of my opinions changing drastically about who I dislike is to be expected.)

I'm hoping the characters I currently dislike get more screentime or have their lives expanded more so I don't have to feel uncomfortable disliking them. In or out, characters, either get awesome or give me background.

The show is PRET-TY awesome about this. It has its faults, especially in the mad festival of wartime drama that is season two, but O'Brien's arc in particular is one of my favorites (and so is Edith's!), and Mary's is WONDROUS.

I really hope so, because after the finale of season one I am so over everyone but Lord and Lady Grantham, Violet, what's his head that's to inherit and his mom, and some of the servants, everyone else can just go DIAF. I hope they go into reasons why Mary and Edith are so vindictively evil to one another, because what the frakking frak?!

Syyybil!!!! Baby Sybil is the best in S2. (Not so much in S2. :'/) It's basically Edith who is the bitchiest one because she's the previous life of Jan Brady. Mary's just pissed because there's a bit of Cersei in her in terms of the fact that she can't be her father's real heir.

OMG my baby love Sybil is so precious.

I can see that Mary is bitter for Cersei-like reasons, and I can see why Edith is bitter because she is constantly overlooked in favor of her sisters, but omg, the sheer cruelty displayed by them actually shocked me.

I'm hoping that there will be more to this than what I've seen so far, because liking characters that do bad things is normal for me (holla atcha girl, Cylons, Lannisters, etc.) but dude, these girls are out of control.
