I make poor decisions!

Note to self: DO NOT WATCH THINGS SOLELY BECAUSE THEY HAVE AN ACTOR YOU LIKE IN THEM. Watching the CSI episode where Tricia Helfer mutilates her own face is not good! You knew it was going to happen! You knew it was going to be bad! God!

(I am going to have nightmares now. Bad idea jeans!)

I have watched so many medical shows! Both scripted and the reality stuff! And crime procedurals! AND DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY HOURS OF SVU I'VE WATCHED? LIKE A MILLION. So I'm like, whatever, CSI! There's nothing you can throw at me I can't handle!

WRONG! I WAS VERY WRONG!

AAAAH! AAAAAH! AAAAAH! I HATE THAT EPISODE! It squicks me so much even by "CSI" standards. I watched it way back before I knew who Tricia was and it completely horrified me, and then years later I was like "oh wow, that was Tricia Helfer? I should watch it again." NO. THAT WAS A TERRIBLE IDEA, SELF.

*shudders just thinking about it*

I knew! I knew what happened! And I seriously was like, pfft, I can handle this, because I've watched so many medical shows and crime procedurals and crime scene things, of course I can handle someone attacking their own face with a knife!!! (I don't know how much worse the episode was made by it being Tricia who was attacking her face, but it could be as much as fifty percent. I was like, howling at her NOT TO DO IT!!!!)

And aside from being horrifying, it was also so sad! I am never watching that again.

Um, yeah, I vaguely remember that it made my teenage skin crawl when it first aired. (TMI ahead, I have a close family member with body dysmorphic and self-mutilating issues that her character took to the nth degree, so it left me feeling really shaky and sad afterwards.) But the fact I'm irrationally attached to Tricia's face now made it even MORE painful. :(

Right? There is that face that I really am rather fond of and first we have to see it all awful looking and mutilated and then we have to see her do it!

*hugs* Aside from being totally horrified and freaked out by Tricia attacking her face, I was really depressed and sad thinking that people deal with that sort of thing, so I can't even imagine how tough it would be for you, knowing someone who struggles with it.

Damn you, CSI!

I remember that one too! Mostly because that was an awesome episode, especially for character development re Sara and Grissom.

I felt kind of guilty, because I hated like... everything about the show. And I've been hearing about Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle and crew foreverrr and instead I was like, (1) Every moment with everyone else was taking away from moments Tricia could've been horrifying me with her fantastic acting and terrifying scenes and (2) STOP TALKING GRISSOM STOP STOP NOW STOP TALKING.

I hated the show all over. :(

OK, your experience horrifies me and I should learn my lesson.... But I confess I put "Fifteen and Pregnant," an old Lifetime movie starring Kirsten Dunst, on my Netflix queue. Because there's a Katee cameo that was her first part ever.

I know this is unwise, and will lead to nothing but pain. But how are we supposed to resist our girl-crush love?

Just FYI, Katee is in that movie for like, two minutes, no lie.

(And I've seen that movie like, three times. It's hilariously awful, but, if you're me, awesome.)

I have never once successfully resisted the siren call of an actor in obscure things. It's ridiculous. Unless they're in a straight-up horror movie, I will watch.
