This'll be Sora's final upgrade when all's said and done. It's based on taking the idea of Super Cure Sunshine and adding a tablespoon of Shining Dream. The result... might need a pass with the nerf bat, I suspect. Oh well, that's half the fun~
Upgrade Name: PREDESU Series Operation Unit Claimer-DESU 05R: Shining
Robot Description: While Hana and Eri get new units outright as part of their new forms, Sora's wish for power manifests as something a little different: a direct upgrade to Desu Itsuki, giving rise to Itsuki Revise, or as it's dubbed by Sora, Desu Shining. The unit's color scheme changes dramatically, to white with yellow accents (rather than Itsuki's yellow with white trim), and the general design seems to shift to focus more on sharp lines and angles. Perhaps the most obvious change, however, is a set of wings on its back in the shape and form of a pearlescent heart. However absurd they look, though, they're effective, making Desu Shining capable of atmospheric and space flight; in atmosphere, its speed isn't up to par with Desu Rising, particularly its Blazing mode, but it's certainly not slow. POTPOURRI continues to serve as the AI for Shining.
From the moment it first appears, Shining seems to hum with power well beyond what Itsuki was capable of. It's faster, somewhat stronger, and a bit tougher across the board; nobody will ever mistake it for a super robot, but it's at least a little better armored than it was. The Itsuki Tambourine is still present, and shines with an inner light; everything Sora could do with it before, she can still do now, though the name change to the unit seems to have inspired her to change all the other names to match. From the Shining Aegis to the Shining Flash, everything's still here, just with "Shining" instead of "Itsuki". There are also several more missile ports for the Gold Forte Burst.
She's added a few new tricks, too: the Shining Cluster fires a number of Itsuki Flash-like projectiles out in a cone, which then all converge on one target from all sides. This direction of fired projectiles, however, means Sora needs to focus on them to affect them, which she can't do if she's otherwise busy (say, being attacked). She can do the same with a single Flash as well. Also new is an idea she picked up some time ago off of Desu Nozomi: a shielded charge to ram into an enemy, using the shield to destabilize the target, and moving through it to come out the other side, creating an explosion in the target. Sora's version, the Shining Meteor, uses her signature sunflower shields, but otherwise works the same.
The last new item is a weapon: the Shining Saber, a long, thin, white-gold beam saber, with an ornately-designed hilt, featuring an emblem of the midday sun warming the Earth. The Saber itself is great for stabbing, or can be used as a normal beam saber for slashing, parrying, and blocking. Just about anything she can do with the Tambourine, she can do with the Saber, though she can't use the Shining Meteor or the Gold Forte Burst, and the things she can use are a bit weaker than they'd be with the Tambourine equipped. (It'll take a moment for her to switch between the two.) Aside from being used as a weapon, the Saber is also the catalyst for a powerful finishing move: the Shining Storm. Several colorful homing tracers are fired from the hilt of the Saber at a particular target, and when they connect, Sora and Desu Shining dissolve into particles of light that form into countless energy lances, flying swiftly through space to strike at the tracers, causing contact explosions with each, and the lances coming together and reforming Desu Shining on the other side, with one last large explosion coming as she reforms, Saber held out to one side as if she'd dashed forward and slashed herself. She can have other Desu units join in via the Hold HANDS system as usual, too.
The downside to all this power is that Sora and Desu Shining only have so much energy to go around; Sora's endurance with the normal abilities is at least as good as always, but when she starts using the Shining Meteor, or especially the Shining Storm, she'll run dry quickly, and if she uses too much power the unit will revert to Desu Itsuki to conserve energy. This, of course, means it can no longer fly, and the Shining Saber fizzles out. Also, Desu Shining is much more sensitive to Sora's emotions; if she's keyed up, the suit will respond even more strongly, but if she's too depressed, the suit destabilizes and she'll have issues getting it to move the way she wants.
Sora's pilot suit changes in much the same way as the unit does; the colors change to white with yellow accents, and everything seems to get... sharper. Along with those changes, though, her hair bleaches to a white-gold while she's in her uniform, and her eyes seem to shine a brighter blue. While she gets the general benefit of the upgrades while outside Desu Shining, she still can't use the Gold Forte Burst on foot, and she can't use the Shining Storm without a lot of training to figure out how to handle the transitions between states. The Shining Meteor is something she can manage, but it'll be shaky without training, and it'll drain her really quickly. She can bring up her new wings at will, but she can't maintain them for very long; mostly she can just use them to glide or to make high jumps, until (or unless) she can figure out how to keep them around longer and not run out of energy.
Terrain Stats:
Ground: A | Air: A | Sea: B | Space: S
Other thoughts:
- I can swap out the wings; either use the ones normally granted by the Heartcatch Mirage, or I can take Shining Dream's angel wings.
- I'm pretty sure those adaptabilities are higher than, well, every other Desu unit.
- I'm not sure I want to give Sora the palette swap while in form; no other Desu does that, and it'd be weird for just her to have it. It'd be amusing though.
- Lemme know if anything looks weird!
