The Park Bench

Aug 06, 2006 00:20

She sits on a bench
In the middle of the park
With the birds chirping all around
Bees buzzing from lilac to lilac
And distant dogs barking

She sits on the bench
The sun shinning through clouds
A warm smile spreading wrinkles
Wide across her leathery face
And her white curls dance in the summer breeze

She is sitting on the bench
Wrapped up in a perfect bliss
A serene moment in her well lived life
A mind leaking distant memories
Yet able to keep the peace of her life

She is there, on the bench
And in her hand is his
Together, with their loose skin and sparkling eyes
You can still see how they love
Over many years and still in love
