Day 21: Sunday, August 17, 2008
New Albany, OH

Even with the fan on and air conditioning, it was very hot sleeping. Mario and Alex like to keep their heating/cooling costs low so they don't crank the a/c which would have helped but oh well. We got up at about 9 and Alex had gone to Tim Hortons and bought me a coffee which was very nice. By the time I came downstairs, Mario and Daryl were back on the Wii, trying to beat the game. It was quite funny because they kept rushing through the easy levels and then falling into holes. I was much more meticulous and got through the easy levels just fine. It's funny what you remember from your childhood - I remembered where all the hidden 1 ups were and even warp beanstalks!! We had whole wheat pancakes for breakfast which were delicious (and Daryl didn't even realize they were whole wheat until he was almost finished!). We hung out the with the girls (and the boys played Wii) while Alex got her hair cut. When she came home, Mario, Daryl and I headed out to Easton, which is the AMAZING shopping centre near them. We started off at the shoe store and I was in HEAVEN! I got a wicked pair of Aasics for running and managed to limit myself to that (even though I tried lots on). Poor Daryl really wanted to get some special shoes (he knew what he wanted) but they didn't have anything. After shoe shopping, Mario was hungry as we went to Chipotle (Mario's favourite restaurant) and got burritos. I filled mine with lettuce and vegetables but it was HUGE and I had to give it to Daryl to finish. With our full bellies, we went to Bath and Body Works where I put to use the gift card that Mario had given Daryl and I during our last visit and stocked up on soap and anti-bacterial hand gel while Mario got me a gift card from Victoria's Secret (using his discount, of course!). I checked out VS but they didn't have anything that I liked - their fall line is in and it's really dark and boring. I decided that I'll just save my gift card for catalogue shopping. Daryl tried to find some Oakley's but he ran into a dead end there as all they had were black frames - apparently you could order different colours online but you couldn't return them if you didn't like them. Daryl was quite choked as he had really wanted to get a new pair of sunglasses. I did want to check out VSX, which is Victoria's Secret's answer to Lulu Lemon. They have AWESOME workout pants and they are MUCH more reasonably priced then Lulus. I spent quite a bit of time in there so Mario and Daryl went over to The Limited where Mario shopped for Alex's birthday. I joined them there, did a quick sweep of the store and ended up with the cutest skirt and two awesome shirts! Alex had given me a 20% off card so basically one of the shirts ended up being free. So great! I had such an awesome shopping day and was ready to keep going but Mario had told Alex that we'd be home by 4. On the way out, Daryl and Mario found some awesome Nintendo Mario Brothers shirts but unfortunately they were the wrong size. Nothing was working out for Daryl today! We headed home with our purchases and were met by two grumpy babies. Alex thought both of them might be coming down with something so our original plan of going out for dinner was down the drain. We decided to order in from a great restaurant. While Daryl and Mario went to pick up the food, Alex gave the girls medicine and the change in behaviour and attitude was miraculous. We had a picnic out on the lawn and then afterwards went over to the park to play. Jo was being really friendly and loved playing with her Uncle Daryl. Alex really wanted to go for ice cream so we all piled into the car and went to Gahanna to this AMAZING ice cream place! The cones were super cheap and delicious. We sat outside in the lovely sunshine and Mario took pictures of us with his iPhone. Jo managed to get ice cream all over the place but that's understandable. When we got home, Alex and I gave the girls a bath while Mario and Daryl....guess.....played Wii! They really wanted to beat the game! After the girls were in bed, we watched the Olympics but everyone was so tired that we fell asleep in front of the TV and so ended up going to bed early.

Jo didn't want to be in the picture with us.....

...but when we told her that Ella would be in it instead, she happily stepped in and smiled big. So funny!
