There was a fantastic thunderstorm last night and it made us really glad that we weren't camping! It lasted about 3 hours and the rains came pouring down! Although it was sunny this morning, the ground was soaked! We checked out after a continental breakfast and some Saved By the Bell. We still needed to explore the bottom floor of the Mall of America so we got there just before they opened at 10 and had to wander around with hundreds of other people, waiting for the stores to open. I got a bunch of hand sanitizers from Bath and Body Works and then Daryl found two really cool ties he can wear when he's coaching. Then we went back to the Golden Gophers store and I got a wicked burgundy sweatshirt and Daryl got a long-sleeved T and somehow it only cost me $45! I guess the guy accidentally scanned Daryl's shirt twice! Then we went to Champs and Daryl got Minnesota and Gonzaga sweatshirts AND two t-shirts! After that, we HAD to leave! We hit the road and headed south. Around lunch time, we saw a sign for a Nike Outlet store and when we got off at the exit, we found a whole bunch of outlet stores! We went to Old Navy Outlet and I got 2 pairs of jeans for a great price and Daryl got two pairs of pants, an awesome shirt and a pair of shorts! Then we went over to the Nike Outlet store and I got 2 more shirts! We had an awesome shopping day and I love outlet stores! I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back and pay full price back at home for stuff! We headed onwards and passed through the numerous cornfields of Minnesota and then got to South Dakota. We took pictures of the giant tepee at a rest stop. It was 33 degrees C out - super hot and we couldn't find any campgrounds so we found a coupon for a Sioux Falls motel. We got a room for $42.99 and it's really nice! The front desk lady gave us two free tickets to a baseball game and we were stoked! We went for dinner at Outback Steakhouse and then headed down to the game. It was actually a ton of fun! We sat behind the plate and it was very entertaining because they had stuff going on between each 1/2 inning. Unfortunately, the Sioux Falls Canaries were losing 6 to 3 at the end of the 7th inning and since we were hoping to watch the results of Rockstar, we headed home. As we were leaving, they gave us free programs and Daryl gave his to the front desk lady. She was really pleased!! There was no Rockstar on (it must have been on earlier) so we just chilled and Daryl tried to go to the casino but it wasn't at all what he thought. Tomorrow we are heading to Mount Rushmore!
