My new car!!!

So on Thursday night, I became the proud owner of a brand new 2006 Toyota Matrix XR!!! Unfortunately I wasn't able to fully enjoy it right away because I was absolutely exhausted from the whole ordeal. I had no idea they tried to sell you so much other junk when you buy a new car! "No, I do not want to spend an extra $700 to keep my car in showroom condition!" And then the insurance too! Who knew there were so many options! It took us 2 hours to get all the paperwork done and I was so thankful that Dad and Daryl were with me because they knew when to say no! All I wanted was to take my car home!

Anyway, my new car is fantastic. For those who don't know, I used to own a 1993 Nissan Sentra but it was on it's last legs. It would pop out of 5th gear on the freeway and someone hit me in a parking lot so my trunk didn't open properly. It also had a wonky clutch (which I didn't notice until I started driving my new car and realized how stinking different they were!). They gave me $1500 for it which was pretty generous (they didn't know about the gear thing or the trunk thing...) and I didn't have to put any money down for my new car. I was going to but Dad told me that with such a low finance rate (3.9%), I should invest that money and make something off it. In the 5 years that I will be making payments, I'm only going to be spending about $2000 in interest which I don't think is bad.

So I brought it home around 6 and then of course I had to take everyone for a drive. It's really roomy and fantastic. It's got a lot of storage room in the back which I really wanted and I've even rigged up a system so it can hold a crate full of my tutoring stuff secure in the back so it doesn't slide around! I love it!! It smells great!! It's also got power everything and I added a spoiler (so it looks sporty) and an iPod interface thing so now I can control my iPod right through the stereo! Very cool! Oh yeah, and it's blue and manual which is why I had to wait 2 weeks for it to come in!

I had a little scare though- when I came home from school on Friday, Dad asked me if I'd washed it. "What??" Then I looked and saw that there were little beads of what looked like water all over the hood but it wasn't water since they were all sticky! It turned out that I had parked under a tree that had "sweated" sap all over it! So, I had to give my brand new car a wash on the second day to get rid of it! I totally thought that I'd driven by a big truck that was spraying out some chemical or something that would ruin my paint job! But don't worry, it's all good!

Well, here are some pics:

This is it from the side.

This is the front view (they made me get a new license plate for it cause they said you couldn't put old plates on a new car - I don't like having numbers first - my old one used to have letters first!).

And here is me posing with it! Yay!
