My current living arrangment
So I live by myself now. For the first time in my thirty years of doing this living thing.
I moved into my apartment on September 6th, 2011.
I thought it was going to be really scary. It's totally not.
It's totally the best thing ever.
I live in a complex that was built in the 70's. I actually live in a townhouse so it's a bit more private than an apartment. I have people on the sides of me but no one above or below and there are no shared public hallways or foyers.
It's all wood floors, cathedral ceilings, neat looking but treacherous steps, my tiny kitchen wall is lined with venetian tile on one side and built in shelves on the other.
the kitchen is tiny but it works. seriously the smallest oven I have ever seen. but it's gas and heats up quicker than anything i ever cooked with. also it has a breezeway??? window that looks into the living room so one doesn't feel cramped in there.
the living room is big and open with built in shelving (something that I have ALWAYS wanted).
the only thing that I don't like about it is that there is only one bathroom and it is upstairs while my living room and kitchen are downstairs. I wish I had a 1/2 bath downstairs as well.
there isn't a washer and dryer either but to be honest I rarely do my own laundry anyway and my electricity bill has not been over $40 since I moved in.
