MY VOTE COUNTED!
Well, from the length of the last entry to this one, I can safely say, MY VOTE COUNTED! Yay for a new President, a new Administration and a whole new set of partisanship....
But enough with the skepticism, its time to catch up on my life. Let's see, what have I been up to since Election Day....
1. Well, work has definitely been entertaining. Slowly, I feel as if I'm starting to make a mark... not sure if its enough for the promotion at the end of the year, but I can always hope. I'm switching teams on my project, so that will hopefully be a new challenge and I'm really looking forward to my new responsibilities.
2. Went home for Thanksgiving, nothing really exciting there... home was home.
3. Went home for Christmas too, pretty uneventful. For the first time, I knew everything I'd be receiving for Christmas. Remember how excited you were for Christmas as a kid? Amazing how that's gone now. Wish it wasn't... I miss that youthful naivity... and the idea that Santa was actually real. C'est la vie...
4. New Years Eve was pretty great though. Was in NYC and it was super cold! But so much fun... we got invited to a Bond Party and Selvan and I went. Pretty fun, and definitely unorthodox. Got to hang out with good friends and the boy... not too shabby. Quickly followed by a trip to Philly for 3 days. Had never spent that much time in Philly, but it's actually a nice city. We stayed in a great hotel that was walking distance to everything. Saw the Liberty Bell - totally anticlimatic. But the rest of Philly was not as bad as I originally thought. It's actually pretty nice and the hotel def helped...
5. Selvan came to stay with me for pretty much the rest of Jan until he left for Germany at the end of the month. He was here for Inauguration, which was so cool. I've never seen that many ppl invade DC... absolutely insane. Couldn't even go to the office that day - wasn't even an option. Had to work from home and saw the Inaugural Parade on TV. Pretty cool to be where the action was. Went out to an Inaugural Ball that night, which was pretty unorthodox but totally fun. Stayed up WAY to late since everything was open until 4am that day and then traipsed into the office that morning at 9am. Will never do that again.... longest day ever! But totally worth it.
6. Was in Miami last week, or part of last week, That was interesting... it was particularly cold in Miami, which was totally odd. I mean, it was def better than being in DC, but almost a little too cold for the beach... almost. The last 2 days were typical Miami, tho, which was great. Went out a whole bunch with friends and enjoyed some good times. Can't wait until summer again, seriously. I've decided that that most def is my favorite season. Although, it is 70* today in DC... go figure. Maybe I did bring a little bit of that Miami sun back with me.
