I know it is still only my first semester of grad school. However, I have this internal clock that slowly and steadily ticks louder and louder. Each tick is a second closer for my thesis topic to be decided.
Okay, so really, I have about 2-4 more months before I even have to decide. But really, there is stress involved.
Some of my ideas recycle themselves around general issues and passions concerning gender, race, class, feminist and women's studies, women in higher ed, multicultural education, policy, politics, inequalities, reproduction and legitimation, and history. Just to name a few. Really, to make a decision is too difficult. There are many things I want to study, write papers on, and research. How can one narrow down such incredibly interesting decisions? (Wow, you would swear I was a teacher or something).
So, here's the thing. If anyone can offer ways in which one can go about finding ideas on thesis topics, I would greatly appreciate it.
Any other insights on how to have a quality and reasonably stressful thesis writing experience, I again, appreciate it.
Well, I am forcing myself to bed. I have officially become a night owl and for those that know me, a year ago I would have been sleeping at 11:00pm. That is, until I met Bob. Now, I stay up later than he does.
Here is a lullaby that I had song to me many-a-nights-
Good Night My Little Pumkin
Good night my little pumkin,
As I tuck in your toes.
Go to sleep my little pumkin,
and you'll turn to a rose.
Good Night.
By the way, Jenn, if you read this, please call me. I miss you!
