Piece of Cake... or not? (Helen/Lucas)

May 12, 2010 00:59

Bending men to her will has always been easy for Helen.

She’d been there with Nick and Stephen, no matter how free of her they’d fancied themselves in the end. Becker had been an unexpected conquest, the cherry on top, so to speak.

They’re all dead now, two she shot herself.

Now there’s someone new in her bed. Handsome, strong, yet broken beyond repair just like her. Her scar-littered body fits into his tattooed embrace perfectly and for the first time in what seems like a lifetime she sleeps without nightmares in arms that killed more than she ever could.

-----

He’s not in love with her, which makes quite a change.

He lacks Nick’s comfortable, homely warmth that drove her up the walls or Stephen’s pained longing but the same passion burns under his skin that drove her into their arms. He’s a lot like Becker, hard and disillusioned under a deceptively charming surface but Becker never truly challenged her. She still dreams sometimes of his hand shaking around the gun.

Lucas’ hand is still as he lifts the gun and she feels oddly proud.

His lips curl slightly as a response to her smirk and he pulls the trigger.
