They meet in Stephen’s old apartment, the one he left but never sold when he moved in with Ryan. Rarely aired rooms are repainted with stolen moments and illicit kisses. Moans that never should’ve been born tangle in always clean sheets - at least the bed is dressed in innocence.
Later they lie awake, twitchy to leave - he’ll notice- but can’t find the strength to turn their backs on each other yet.
“This has to stop,” Ditzy whispers against Stephen’s hair. A desperate plea more than anything. Stephen says nothing. He has no illusions about how this is going to end.
