I'm extremely glad this week is over. It's been hectic, annoying, irritating and disappointing. I'm working on Monday though. Labor Day has never been a big holiday for me or anyone in my family. In fact, my family rarely gets together anymore. Everyone's too self-involved with their own families, work, etc. Plus, my family isn't known for its relaxation techniques. We're known for stress, problems, and chain smoking.
An old acquaintance of mine from middle school and high school passed away this week. His name was Chris Gailey. The word on the street is that he died of an overdose of Xanax. What I can't figure out is how. Chris wasn't the type of person to just take a bunch of pills and be done with life. He was smart, successful and sharp. Then again, shitty things happen to the best of us.
http://miva.delawareonline.com/miva/cgi-bin/miva?obits.mv+54153 I'm not going to attend the funeral tomorrow. I was going to, but I just can't. It sounds very unlike myself to say that, but it's at the same funeral home where Sandi was laid to rest and I just can't deal with that. This just goes to show that none of us are invincible. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
