63 Do Not Disturb
“Cripples United, you’re not invited,” Paul’s hard, mocking voice cuts through Robert’s hope-filled plea; Réka just keeps staring at her many times refilled wine glass as Paul shuts the door in his ex-lover’s face, knowing she’s in no position to judge.
21. War
Robert can see all the signs of a war raging inside the dying body and his hands fold in prayer instinctively despite Paul’s weak, coughed verdict: “Pathetic.”
08. Funeral
The first time Réka sees her future second husband he’s supporting and elderly lady as they’re saying farewell to a family member, her mind is made up in a second, a week later she wakes up beside him in a bed she can’t quite remember falling into the night before and she can almost hear Paul’s mocking voice in her mind: “You think that’s gonna turn out ok?”
