I still friggin' love Seattle. When I left the airport, I didn't stop smiling for a good twenty minutes. I skipped the newcomer's orientation like a bad little squirrel and went to hang out with
agelesseuridice instead. Yesterday I was awake for 21 consecutive hours, and I traveled by car, plane, airport shuttle, city bus, foot, and taxi. (It was my first taxi ride!) Today I'm going to sessions and vendor meetings and just generally being a good librarian. Tomorrow I'm going to some more things in the morning and then doing a little shopping and walking around in the afternoon. In the evening, there's the all-conference reception at the Experience Music Project, which will hopefully be an excuse to take the monorail. (And yes, I will sing the monorail song from the Simpsons at least once. "But Main Street's still all cracked and broken!") Then on Sunday, Lynnne, Tabbi, and I are hopefully going to have brunch at the Space Needle. Pretty awesome.
Seattle fast fact: You can pay more for a month of parking in downtown Seattle than some people in other parts of the country pay for a month of rent.
