Chapter 1
Cameron’s having an affair.
The realization comes one lazy Sunday morning as they’re having hot coffee and croissant in bed together. She’s reading Wilson’s latest publication while he’s doing the crossword in the newspaper, toes lightly brushing under the covers.
Temporary or permanent cessation of the heartbeat. Thirteen letters.
Pencil touches paper. Cameron turns a page. A perfectly curved grey line in a tight little box. A sudden white flash making everything clear - is this what House’s epiphanies feel like? - as if a flashlight has been switched on in his head.
And Chase never gets to write down the A.
