It's Taken Me All This Time To Find Out What I Need, Yeah

So, on December 22nd last month, I woke up to

I had to take a picture with my phone and send it to agent0033 because he was the first to notice that Marvel's madness had bypassed endearingly quirky and was fast approaching Captain Ahab-like levels.

Do you know what's worse? Those weren't presents TO the bots. That would be bad enough.

No, those were presents FROM the bots. To us. (At least it wasn't to each other.) I forgot who got us what (Marvel remembers), but one of them got us Coonskin, which is apparently one of the most (satirically) racist cartoon movies ever made, and the other got us Over the Top, which, thank God, there is an available Rifftrax for.

Over the Top was more watchable than I expected it to be--of course, how much can you expect from a movie about a father's journey to win an arm wrestling championship so he could get custody of his son? Granted the kid was actually not a bad actor all things considered. Granted as well that I was probably mildly biased having been in a situation where I've had to try to bond with a single father while spending long weekends driving in a (pickup) truck. However, we were still treated to gems such as these:

John Grizzly: When I get to the table, that person, I don't care who they are, they're my mortal enemy. I hate them.

That's...that's a normal reaction.

Harry Bosco: My whole body is an engine. This is a fireplug
[makes a fist]
Harry Bosco: ... and I'm gonna light him up.

Are...are you coming on to your opponent? What does that even mean?

Lincoln Hawk: I always wanted to be a milk shake.

No, scratch that, what does THAT even mean? To be honest I don't even remember hearing that line in the movie. Maybe I blocked it out.

(If you want a more detailed summary of the ridiculous, ridiculous plot, Cracked.com went into it here.)

Forget drugs and alcohol. These movies have got to be rotting our brains.

[EDIT]: I almost forgot! Happy birthday, justicevoles!

birthdays, bad movies
