Another update from the barracks:
I spent the night in Tampa on Thursday and spent some time with Steven on Friday. Before I left the apartment on Friday, however, I took some time to clean up Jen and Kim's living room because it was a total wreck. During my cleaning frenzy, I discovered a gigantic mealworm that was hiding under some papers on the floor. I didn't pick it up because I didn't want it to squish in my hand. I also found a lovely puddle of urine on the beanbag chair from Kim's cat Phage. Note to everyone: Don't sit on the beanbag. Ever. Steven took me to see Star Wars #3; all in all it was a good movie, but it really bummed me out. I was not too fond of the little children being massacred, or Anakin's dismembered body going up in flames. The movie did tie up a lot of loose ends, though, which is always good.
It was late last night when Debra and I ventured forth on our Rocky Horror Picture Show adventure. I invited Jen, Steven and Kim to come along with us, but they all had their own excuses to not attend. Therefore, it was just Debra and myself. Upon our arrival in St. Pete, we saw a bunch of crazy people standing in front of the theatre. We decided to pass some time by walking around and looking at all the crazy shops. The most interesting thing we saw was the dead bird outside the veterans' office. It scared me, and Debra wanted me to take a picture of it with my phone! As if I don't think that birds are scary enough....
Debra was labeled a Rocky virgin by some random guy because she didn't know the sixth rule (Six..Sex!). Luckily, she wasn't dragged up on stage with all of the other virgins before the show started. There were a lot more people at this showing than there were at the one that a whole group of us went to. The show was great as always; people strutting around in their underwear, shouting things at the screen. During the wedding scene, Debra and I were showered with rice, and during the rain scene, we were pelted with water. Fortunately for us, we had bought prop bags and were well-prepared with our newspapers. Unfortunately for myself, during the dinner scene when everyone threw their toast, I got pelted in the eye with a piece. I am so happy that I wasn't wearing my contacts, because then I would have had major problems. I felt kind of bad for not tipping them at the end, but I have to face facts: I am not working as many hours as I used to and my money supply is dwindling.
After the show, Debra and I went to Whataburger for the first time. It was pretty good for a burger place; the drinks were massive, though. I really don't think that anyone needs that much soda. I didn't get home until about 3:30 and I had to be at work at 11. Good times. Work today was typical, except for the fact that almost all of my orders consisted of buns, meat, condiments, ice and soda. Everyone is getting geared up for Memorial Day tomorrow, but where will I be? Oh yeah, that's right, at work. My mom made the mistake of telling me about Circuit City's CD sale again, so I will be heading there tomorrow to see if anything tickles my fancy. I hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend!
