An Argument for Consciousness

My journal must be feeling the pangs of loneliness, since I haven't updated in awhile. It's been a little bit, so let me try and remember what has been going on. Let's see...

Went to see Taking Back Sunday on the 25th. The Format was there, and since I had enjoyed them at the SoCo show, I enjoyed their set and was even able to semi-sing along to one of the songs. Debra and I enjoyed the people-watching, and I took a picture of the most awesome mullet ever created by the hand of man. What made it even better was that the guy who had the mullet was wearing a Backstreet Boys shirt. TBS was an ok show; I wouldn't want to go see them specifically again, though. My sister and her boyfriend had a good time, though, and that was the real reason that I went anyway (to take them). The next day, however, I became sickly and remained that way for the rest of the week. :(

On May 1st, I had...

Whoa, just to interject with this story, my cat just took the rankest dump. My sister's room now reeks and I am forced to pause to spray some aerosol fragrance. BRB.

OK...Thank god for Lysol. On May 1st, I had Debra buy me two more HP vouchers. She rocks. I hung out with Steven and Jose; Jose bought me a waffle at the Waffle House. It was awesome. Worked major hours on Sunday and Monday. I was off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday was Cinco de Mayo, so Jen, Debra, Kim, Melissa and I all decided to hang out and make tacos. I was excited because I had found someone to take my lame-ass Friday shift, so I didn't have to rush home the next day. I worked my early shift, then went home to take a shower and get ready to go to Tampa. Upon my arrival in Tampa, I found the apartment in shambles. Nothing new. I was feeling kind of icky, so I sat down and ate some cookies. The original plan was to go shopping with Kim and Jen once Jen got home from her test, but of course she was late. Also, I felt bad and Kim and Jen were being their lazy selves. Needless to say, we decided to wait until Debra and Melissa showed up to go shopping. In retrospect, that was a better plan because it is always more fun to shop in a group. In contrast, however, we should have gone shopping earlier because we were all starving by the time we got to the store. Steven joined us at the liquor store and the grocery store. When we got back to the apartment, I didn't help make the tacos. I said "Blah" to the whole thing. In the end, the tacos were edible. That's the best comment that I can give them. We bought Coronas and limes and tried them, but they were gross. Jen had bought this Passoa drink thing, and mixed with orange juice, it made a pretty good drink. I had a few of those. We were all supposed to go to Gameworks as well, but several factors put an end to it. One, it was raining most of the day so it was gross outside. Two, I had no money. Three, it was late by the time we finished making and eating the tacos. Four, I didn't want to drive to Ybor. So yeah, we didn't go. Then, everyone started watching National Treasure. I watched a few minutes of it and deemed it crap. Not too long after that, Jen remembered that it was ER night, so we ran upstairs with our drinks and watched our show. After it ended, we were just hanging out upstairs when people started pouring into Jen's room. Turns out, Debra and Melissa left without even coming up to say goodbye. It's partly our fault for running away from the movie, but they could have come upstairs and said goodbye. I was a little saddened by that. I didn't get drunk, but I was a little tipsy from the drinks, and when I was on Jen's floor bed, I tripped and slammed my butt into one of the corners of her dresser drawers. I still have the bruise, and it hurts like hell. It was close to two in the morning when everyone decided that they wanted to go to the porn store. I didn't want to, so they went without me. Not to be deterred, I decided to go for a walk by myself. What was truly awesome was that they came back to the apartment because the porn store had closed and they didn't even notice that I was gone until I was nearly back. Not that I cared. I was going to walk to Walmart and have them pick me up, but I got halfway there and realized that I was tired, so I walked back. When I got back, Steven and I walked around the apartment complex talking until like four or five in the morning. We finally went to bed around six in the morning, and woke up around eightish. We finally got up and he made me watch Star Wars #4. I was not overly impressed, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think that we all watched it at Kim's house, though, when we had our Star Wars party. Steven left after the movie ended, and I went back to sleep until around twoish. I woke up, got dressed, went and got Subway with Kim and James, came back, watched Sex and the City, and helped Kim clean up the apartment from the night before. I figured that if I didn't help make it, I could at least help clean it up. Later that night, I took Steven to Clearwater Beach to watch the sunset. They had a fun carnival thing going on by the Pier. Then, we had to rush back because Jose bought us tickets to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I felt bad because we were about half an hour late to the movie. I didn't factor in enough driving time, I guess.

Sunday was Mother's Day. My mom enjoyed the presents that I gave her, especially the ones that I won for her at Stop n' Play. But, shh, she doesn't know that they were free. I had to work that night, so I didn't get to eat dinner with them.

I work tonight, but I am off tomorrow and Thursday. I might go play laser tag with Jen, Jose and Steven tomorrow, providing someone pays for me because I don't really like laser tag. Also, I'm having breakfast with Lilly so we can catch up.

Summer school starts next week. Boo.

Random work tidbits: One customer ran down another customer in the check-out line with the motorized cart that she had borrowed from the front. Literally, she mowed her down. She claimed that the cart just kept moving. Uh, ma'am, the only reason it kept moving was because your hand was still on the button. People keep complaining to me about the prices of things. People, we are not Walmart. We are not U-Save. We are not Save-a-Lot. I'm sorry, but I don't want to hear you go on about how your coffee creamer is ten cents cheaper at our competitor's store. Just shut up.

Here's to hoping that the night goes smoothly. Peace out.
