Chicago airfare update: It seems fairly certain that
wyowanderer and I at least won't be able to pull off Chicago until this fall. Why, you ask? (Oh
videre_licet, don't give me that look; I swear that we'll make it to see you eventually).
Well, March features Spring Break and Mexico for a week, and wyo's Mom is visiting him. And she doesn't do airplanes, so apparently it's a Big Deal that she's coming to AZ.
And then in May, in theory los padres are springing for a Spain ticket for me. Really they just need me out of the house for a few weeks so they can have hardwood floors installed. But I can't turn down a free Euro ticket. Plus, I like traveling with the fam. And wyo's going up to Brokeback Mountain (aka Wyomisconsin) to go fishing with his dad.
However, it looks like Phoenix to Chicago tickets for August through October are in the $260 range, which is very doable. Plus, then you might be living someplace new and exciting with
soephemeral, and not imposing on your Mom is prolly a good thing.
Laura,
socialist, you still on board? I'm assuming we'd plan on visiting for a week--catch a few improv shows, go to Nocturna (so I can hide behind videre's skirts) and check out job/housing stuff. Save up your time off work, peeps! This is all contigent on school, too . . . if I do get a TAship, I may have to do some juggling.
