So where have I been since September? Let see, home? Yes, that is right, home. Been good to just relax at home, and kind of ease back. All is not without a bit of work you see I have picked up a tutoring job wile searching for a job. It is a fun job, and I really thank coastal Ben College for biging me the opportunity. It is great to see students eager to learn, and also wonderful to see old teachers of mine. This goes especially to Dr John Fox. Lovely man he is, and I am always looking forward to just sitting down at his office and chatting up a storm. We always have wonderful conversations, and he enjoys my compnay, as I do him. He swears till this day that I was attending the local college for a year or more. I simply reply with a "No sir, only for one semester." His response to this is, "Damn, you sure made an impact on us as staff members here. Great to see you." Anyhow, the tutoring job is great, and I am thankful for the opportunity. Seen several students, ranging from foreign and local students. All the same though, it is a great experience.
So, home has been great in general. Great to spend time with mom and dad, and work in minor projects here and there. It is also good to hang out with the deceased
eitk. Don't click on his name, his account is dead, lol. He comes to the house frequently, and always good to hang out with him.
Holidays
The holidays were great. Christmas and new years came and flew by. It went by so fast I tell you. Christmas was filled with family get togetherness, and presents that I know I can use. these all include clothing, and money. Great stuff. We did the usual, gather at my uncles house, a nd then gathered at my dad's famly on christmas day. It is a tarde of of sorts. Spend christmas eve with mom's side, and day with dad's side of the family. New years however was great! We had a big part at my dads growing business, entitled rollies, and family, friends, and so fourth just gathered around. the best part was talking to
vampress_nitara. We both wished each other our happy new years on their accounted hours. since, she is an hour ahead of me, and I am an hour behind her. either way, was a great time on both hours. stayed up late that night talking, but enjoyed it very much. We always talk when we can, and it is always great to talk to her when we are able.
Moving On
Over the past coule of months, I have been seeing both eye doctors that I have. One appointment, which was back in October, was with my retina specialist. At the time, my glaucoma was a bit high, and I was put on some glaucoma drops to reduce the eye pressure. At that same appointment, I was refere to my original eye doctor. In November, I got to see him for the first time in about 6 years. the appointment went well, and he saw that my pressure was kind of high, and the cataract that had been in my eye for over ten years now. the main reason I was refered back to him was because of my cataract. I have two cataracts, one in each eye, but the one I was referd for was the one in my left eye, which is the good eye I have. At the first appointment, the main priority was my pressure built up. He perscribed some new drops to replace my original glaucoma drops, and sent me on my way. He then saw me in December, to determine how my glaucoma was doing. The medicine he gave me worked well, and I am still using it at the time of this writing. At that same appointment, the issue of my cataract got brought up. We did some tests, and what the retina specialist had pointed out, was what my original eye doctor found. After running the tests and such, and checking my retina, he explained that it would be a good time to get the left cataract removed. you can imagine that I was quite nervous about it. Even back in October, when my retina specialist had brought it up, it still made me nervous. He also explained that everything is a go, and this procedure was not an emergency one, and that if I waited longer to take it out, it might come down to an emergency case. Seeing that it was a good idea, I reflected back to what I had told myself. A couple of years ago, when I was still a junior in TAMUCC, my retina specialist had explained that the cataract would have to come out eventually, and it would be up to me to decide that. The first thing I relayed was, "Graduation is my first priority. After that, I will consider taking them out." Well, here we are after graduation, and I am 24. Upon reflecting on that message, I agreed to the cataract surgery, and we set the pre check up for January 9, the surgery on January 14th, and the post check up on January 15th. That appointment went well, and my pressure built up was majorly low. the medicine helped greatly, and provided good signs for the surgery. January 9th came, and the checkup was well as expected, pressure was low, and the doctor did some measurements on my eye. He also gave me instructions to follow the day before and after surgery. Needless to say, my work was cut out for me.
Current Time
You made it this far eh? quite a journey I would think. Before we get to the more "glossy" details, I would like to say that my brother has gone back to school. Over the holidays, it was fun being with him, as we battled for OS supremacy. No one won, but I owned him plenty of times, but still, no one won. OS supremacy is hard, it really is. However, I enjoy my mac, and I am really happy with it. who cares if I spent some money on it. *Pts mac.* Ah, and what better name to give my mac then Velvana Valehar? Such a pretty name. Her story is yet to be finished, but we will get to that momentaraly.
We are now Tuesday, January 13, and my cataract extraction is tomorrow. you can imagine that I am nervous, but I know in heart that everything will be just fine. With the guidance of those who are my friends, and the muses I call as my own, everything will be just fine. Another user,
charmarie, has an upcoing surgery of her own, and I hope it goes well. she doesn't know exactly when her surgery is, but I wish you the best of luck when you come to that time. I go in at 9:30 AM tomorrow, and my surgery will take about an hour. I had them provide me with general anesthesia. I rahter be totally asleep, and not be awake when the surgery is going on. I am sure it will go well, and those who know me, please keep me in your thoughts. If you would like to leave a comment about my surgery, or if you have my phone number, call and leave a voice mail. either way, wish me.
Writing
I have completed 12 chapters of Goddesses of Lunar Advent, but have since taken a break on writing. After my recovery however, I plan on finishing what I have started. Surgery comes first though. well.
Well, for now, I am closing this entry. I hope all is well with everyone To those I talk to everyday, especially by phone, and you know who you are :), thanks for being there for me. Always great to talk to you.
