The (supposed) last weekend of summer

Sep 03, 2011 16:46

I'm pretty sure there's not much better (at least at this point in my life) than spending the day lounging by the pool in my backyard with a good book (One Day, by Dave Nicholls, yes, that one that's been made into a movie with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess) and a margarita.  :D  What can I say, I'm easily pleased.  :)

Also, I'm having a hard time believing I turn 22 in ten days.  I mean, what?  What?  When my mom was 22, she'd been married for three years and five months away from having her first child.  I still live at home, I don't have a boyfriend, I've not even finished my Associates', and I've never held a job.  :<  Either the times have changed, or I'm lagging behind and there's a lot I need to be doing with my life.  Seriously.

(/shakes off angsty, introspective mood)

Anyway!

It's 98 outside, feels like 100 (at least), the slow-grilled barbeque pork ribs are almost done (so's the corn on the cob, yum), and I think I need another margarita.  Enjoy your weekend, guys.

Maybe I'll post a fic later.  Maybe.
