Oooh, stormy. :D
Anyway, why do I angst so much? I'm needing a job this summer, I just happened to mention to my sister last night that Old Navy would be a cool place to work, and, voila, Old Navy's actually hiring. That's not the really angsty part (though, first job, I'm a little nervous to be applying, mostly 'cause it's something new and I don't do new too well). The angsty part is trying to come up with 3 references that aren't family and then finding the balls to pick up the g-d phone to call 'em (I don't like making phone calls; don't know why, I just really don't. Good thing I'm not applying to work for Nielsen, then, huh?). I mean, I've got two references I could call and I think I (literally) just thought of a third one, but I've gotta pick up a phone and ask their permission and I HATE PHONE CALLS.

Also, I need to go by the bank and set up a checking account so my stupid NOOK will allow me to keep download the books I've bought for it. The Visa gift card that I used to a) order the NOOK from bn.com, b) bought most of my NOOK library with in the first place, and c) still has plenty of money to cover the purchases I've made suddenly hasn't worked since their last software update. I mean, the website still uses it just fine but the device itself won't let me download the books I've bought. Makes me mad, since I was told by the bank that I could do everything with this giftcard except reserving a hotel room or booking a flight. So, wtf, B&N?? WTF?
Ah, well. Actually this is a pretty good day, so far. I had planned to spend the day on the back porch in my bathing suit, hopefully not blinding any neighbors that happened to look into our yard, maybe hop in the pool if it got warm enough, but the threat of storms has pretty much nixed that plan. I went out to Old Navy in E-town to exchange the flip-flops I bought yesterday (they had a $1 flip-flop sale but by the time I got out there, most of their inventory was gone, so I got to just grab a couple pair and come back in today and change them for the colors I wanted.) and happened to notice their hiring notice in the window. Providence, no?
...I need to go finish that application before I lose my nerve and 'forget' it...
ANYWAY.
How's your 'day after the world was supposed to end' going? :D
