Update
Time to update.
I spent five months trying to find a job. Thought that wouldn't be too hard since I was willing to take a job at a salary where I left off. It seems that none of my previous experience counted. Even though I was in charge of a Naval Personnel Office, I was told I didn't qualify to even be a secretary (yes, I can type). The best put off was from a hr type who told me that since I had so much volunteer activity on my resume, she didn't think I had time to work.
But I did find a job, part-time in an elementary school after substitute teaching for 3 months (even in middle school, that was a disaster). I found a school I really like so that works out well. I also got a job as an "on-call" library clerk which is great. They call me in a lot and I love that job too.
Still no benefits.
Even though I haven't been updating, I have been keeping up with LJ. My list is at a manageable 15, so that helps with the time. Some weeks, I'm out every day for 13 hours.
