Wet Weekend

Interesting weekend in New Jersey. We drove up on Friday but went on the western route to avoid the D.C. traffic which seemed to have started evacuating the city around 10 am. We were making good time until they closed the highway we were on (both directions). It took us 4 hours to go around a section of the Interstate. Seems a car went over the median and hit a tractor/trailer head on. Two fatalities. It took us 9 hours to make a 4-5 hour trip. Oh well, we did stop for dinner and we did arrive alive. So then on Saturday we spent 12 hours outside at the Gold Cup. Would sound like a nice weekend but it rained all afternoon and evening and much of the morning, and it was COLD. Now here's the weird part. I thought about going back home on the western route but opted to come down the eastern way since it is shorter and it was Sunday night. Lucky I did because there was another fatal accident on the same highway under the same circumstances (car goes over the median, two fatalities). That's just plain weird.
