(no subject)
So...today I'm sick. Yesterday is when the sickness started, but today it was pretty bad. So I'm staying home and getting some stuff done.
Last night I got part of my birthday present from Chris. Their names are Penelope and Henrietta, and they're small female rats. And I love them. They are so cute! So we took them home...got their cage situated. And then I realized that Penelope only has three legs! I felt really bad watching Henrietta climb all over the cage and then Penelope had to hobble her way around. It's kind of sad. But she gets around. And I love them.
They're pretty shy right now, and everyone I talked to told me they make really friendly pets. The manager at PetCo said she's only been bitten once by rats, and that time it was by a pregnant female. I got them a little ball and a strawberry house. So far they haven't figured out how to use the exercise wheel...but that's okay! This morning I bribed Henrietta out of the strawberry with a yogurt treat so I could pet her. They're not used to being held yet, but it's supposed to take a week or so before they're acclimated to the new environment. They like throwing food, too. I plan on teaching them how to ride on my shoulder and how to walk on their hind legs. Everyone should meet them. They're so freakin cute.
So now we have two turtles, two rats, and a doggie.
And I'm thinking about making my journal friends only. Because it pretty much is already. Thoughts?
