(no subject)
Alright, I know I never update this thing. All sorts of things I could write in here... Uhm, got a laptop the beginning of the month, from Dell, I love it. I can get highspeed internet, wireless, practically anywhere I go :P
I can't remember when I last updated this thing so I guess I'll talk about some of the places I've been over the last six months or so....
-In October I went to Elk City, OK to a get together of people from the Ranch Dog Froum. That was a lot of fun, met a lot of great people. I'll be going back again this October, but I've already seen a lot of the people at other events and I'll see more at other stuff going on this spring and summer. My six month old pups were better than most of the trained dogs there, I was very proud of them :D Looked at several dogs to buy- nothing interesting.
-Two weeks later went to the Elvin Kopp clinic in Albany, OH. Bunch of ladies came down from Canada for the clinic and trial, they were a lot of fun. Had some nice BC sheepdogs. Met a lady from MO who had a nice Kelpie. Tried to buy a dog from Billy but he wanted too much. Was a decent enough dog just no training for the price!
-Talked to Charlie Trayer and set up a date to go look at dogs in December.
-November went back to OH for a Gary Ericsson clinic. Blue had her puppies a few days before and I wound up bringing the whole litter to feed the one little bugger that wasn't doing well. I was in a fould mood all weekend :p It was good seeing Grant, Bruce, Billy, Mike, Herm, and Gary again. Sure I'm forgetting people. Met some new people from KY who have HTCs also. Met Darren Wall and his nice Kelpies. Tebow is a cool dog. Billy sold the HTC that I wanted to buy in November to a guy at the clinic. Stayed all weekend of the trail. Spent one night at the hotel with Bruce and his girlfiend. Slept the other two nights in the Blazer with the dogs. Ugh, new puppies whined all night, every time momma moved. Sorry puppy died Monday.
-December went to Charlie's. Eh. He had some nice older dogs but none of the young dogs I looked at were very interesting. I probably would have bought the one but Charlie wouldn't take less (I mean, whot, he wanted $1500 for a dog that wouldn't even stay on contact with the cattle). Anyway, Pat called the next morning and said they weren't interested in doing business with me. ...??? Eh well.
-Grant called me before Chistmas and said they were coming up from TX to Billy's in southernish IN, which is a couple hours from me, so I went out there and took some puppies to send back with Grant for Gary. It was a good time! Bruce and his girlfriend came also. And some people from KY. Met Johnny Beavers who has HTCs and Mary ?? who has Aussies. One of the guys I met at Gary's clinic was there, he wound up buying that dog I wanted from that other guy at the clinic and now he was bringing it for Grant to take back to TX to train!! Anyway, I sent four puppies with Grant and then wound up taking one of Bruce's pups back with me. It's a blue male pup, full brother to my black one, I named him Mouse. Grant and his gf and Billy and his wife and myself went out to eat Mexican that night. I got sick on the way home and wound up sleeping half the night in some parking lot and getting home at 3AM.
-Was supposed to go to NC this weekend for a dog working playday, get together thing, but it was cancelled due to weather. Apparently 4" of snow is a major event down there? Anyway, they're supposed to reschedule.
