A challenge was presented to me at church this morning. This challenge is just for this week to concentrate on from today this moment and every moment until next Sunday.
Challenge: To focus on God. To put yourself and your agenda aside and let God do God's work with you. So many times, if not all of them, we are concerned with our preferences, our wants, our dislikes, making our Christian walk convient and comfortable to ourselves, but what about the things that God prefers, desires, likes or dislikes? The challenge this week is just to put yourself and all that that entails aside and let God have God's way with you. Let God do what God wants and can do if you will let God.
Anyway, I am a control freak and I keep realizing (or perhaps God is divinely pointing out to me) that I am very selfish. I need to be more selfless, for example, all my lifelong goals and (sorta) dreams revolve around me and what will happen to me. I can still have & attain these goals, they aren't the problem, but I just need to change my perspective on them and what I will do when I do achieve them. For all these reasons, I think that this challenge would be a good one for me to try. Besides, I am competitive person and I like challenges, especially ones that make me compete against myself.
Ergo, I am taking this challenge for this upcoming week. I ask anyone who knows me to help me out and gently remind me of this challenge when I start going my own way and doing my own things. Thanks in advance. :)
