100 word drabble
This was inspired by Oh My Girl's recent comeback where I learned that a member, JinE, had left. Watching a youtube video that had explained JinE's long battle with anorexia, I am extremely saddened by the social pressure idols have to face that can viciously affect the idol's healthy life and destroying their beautiful dreams. I hope JinE manages to fully recover and be happy in the next chapter of her life. This 100-word (actually 90) drabble was a call out to a person's hopes and dreams ruined by this horrible disorder. :(
I was born for the performance. My greatest comfort was on stage with the glittering dresses and the fluffy bows, with the blazing hot stage lights, with the focal microphone in my hand, with the gleaming audience whose eyes lit up like the twinkling stars. Singer. Dancer. Actor. All in all, I was a performer; someone to delight those who see and hear me. A spellbinding, unforgettable performer. Little did I know, my greatest enemy was myself. I, who lived for the show, ironically destroyed myself yearning for the applause.
