Okay Miss Lindsey, this one's for you!
It's been awhile so I'll catch y'all up on the happenings that stand out in the last few weeks. Yesterday I got to speak to my best buddy on the phone. I love getting to talk to her, we don't get to catch up nearly enough. While talking to her it was so clear that there are forces out there that are not working for good and hate when something good is about to happen. I was surprised to hear that she's planning on getting married sometime around next summer...I can't believe it!
Second, one of the girls at work gets to go on a cruise of the Mediterranean! I'm so jealous. Venice, Istanbul,, Athens...crazy. It made me think that I'll never get to go to those places again if I don't have a job! Just another reminder that I have to trust God's path and have faith that I'll be exactly where I'm supposed to be at all times. Easier said than done...I want to be in Venice!
Yesterday I went to lunch with the girls from work. It was great and included Molten Chocolate Cake...yummy!
Adrenaline on Wednesday was a blast as usual. I had a great talk with a student who was struggling. It's great that they feel Adrenaline is a place they can go and really open their hearts and try to get some off the frustrations of life out in the open instead of leaving them fester in the pit of their stomachs. Also, I was really happy with the girls in my breakout. They really opened up and we got to really talk. The topic was awesome, judging others. No matter how old you are it's always a good idea to be reminded. It was strange to imagine a world where nobody judged anyone else. Especially when it comes to what you look like, or who you talk to. Can you think what it would be like if you could walk into a room and know that nobody was concerned with what you're wearing or the size of your thighs or whatnot.
I think Adrenaline felt different this week because of a new "ritual" I have. On Wednesdays after work I'm going to go home instead of rushing straight to Adrenaline. I'm going to take a shower and sit and pray. I've discovered I like praying in the shower. Nothing is going on around me to distract me from talking to God...it's so great. The shower has always been a special place for me, as odd as that sounds. When I get nervous, need to cry, feel sick or just need a time out I always run to the shower. It's funny-strange, but ya know everyone has their "special place" as Alli would say.
After Adrenaline we did our "debriefing" with the leaders. Trish and I got to share french toast...yummy.
In other news I haven't been to the gym since the Hurricane. I'm VERY disappointed in self and self will start going to the gym again by Monday at the very latest...I hope to "pop-in" tomorrow, but being Saturday and all I don't know if it will happen.
I'm having trouble sleeping now that Corrine is out of the apartment. It's totally illogical that I think someone will try to break in and steal me in the middle of the night. I live on the third floor, in a big building, the alarm is set and all doors and windows are closed and locked. God says "I will protect you in the terrors of the night". I believe all of his other promises I need to get this one in my head! I hope I can get over this stupid feeling by fall and when I move into my folks house so I can sleep with the windows open in the autumn. I love to sleep with the windows open when it's beautiful and cool outside!!! Now that I think of it I can't wait until autumn...I think it's my favorite season. Sad seeing as we don't have much of an autumn...but we get the brisk evenings...which is so great for sweatshirts and cocoa!
Now the best news of the month! We had an awesome girls sleepover last weekend. 25 girls showed up to swim, watch movies and have fabulous girl talk. We played get to know you games in the hot tub, watched all my favorite movies and had an awesome time sitting around a candle in Corrine's old room. We ended up sharing the gospel and one girl got saved...so cool. I'm so impressed with these girls! Afterwards we sat and sang worship songs into the early morning. I got to know a lot of the new girls much better and really enjoyed getting to see their personalities. We have so many awesome additions to our group...what a blessing! I can't wait to see who God brings us in the upcoming months. I also can't wait to really get deep with these girls and see real spiritual growth...yay!
What this weekend holds, I don't know, but will update you on Monday! Love you my live journal friends!
