And now for some happy thoughts... on the latest Wizard of the Month, that is

New Wizard of the Month at jkrowling.com is Salazar Slytherin! Looks like we are going to get all the Founders. Will it be Ravenclaw or Gryffindor for July, do you think?

Text of WoM blurb:

Medieval (precise dates unknown)
One of the four celebrated Founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Salazar Slytherin was one of the first recorded Parselmouths, an accomplished Legilimens, and a notorious champion of pureblood supremacy.

So does Legilimency run in the Slytherin family? Tom Riddle Jr/Voldemort is a highly skilled Legilimens. I wonder if Harry will turn out to be unusually talented in this subject? He got Voldemort's Parselmouth ability, and he did push into Snape's mind that one time during Occlumency lessons.

Interesting that here he is a "notorious champion of pureblood supremacy." From the books, I got the impression that he didn't trust Muggleborns, possibly because of those external foes, but that this did not necessarily mean he thought purebloods were superior (though it could). How many purebloods could there have been, after all, with only a couple of thousand wizards in Britain max, most of them probably living among Muggles and with no Hogwarts at which to meet potential magical spouses?
