comfortable...

You find yourself stopped midway through the train tracks. A roaring, high-pitched vibrato sounds your way, and a raging blast of wind follows. Your anticipation grows stronger and more hesitant at the same time. There is a rusty scent, a humid breeze, and an antsy bug hovering an inch away from your ear. And then you notice that you are alone, as if in a dream, been left, but not stranded, for your world of worries and confusion have abandoned your side, leaving your senses focused on one small adventure, one last risk, one last test. Your shaky feet fit well in the bulky, yet consuming sneakers. Each step is as awkward as the last, attempting to both balance on what you know you can stick to, as well as reach what your perseverance upholds you to. Slight smile lines crack at the cheekbones, and an overwhelming sensation of content swims throughout the veins. Mesmerized by the encompassing joy and lightheartedness, you suddenly realize that your toes are wedged between two broken wood pieces, and you sigh at the imperfection of manufacture, and also at human nature’s lack of focus. The vibrant honking snaps you back into the reality of an approaching train, every puff of the engine inches nearer and nearer, until the small gray speck in the distance alarms its headlights and the black chunk charges at every instability you posses. Determination cheers you on while apathy sits back and lectures that the inevitable is, well, inevitable. Oddly, the two forces combine, giving you that powerful push of self-earned strength. Honking, flashing, and challenging the track’s will, the train offers you the last hope of safety. You hurdle the slashed wood, throw your energy into the grated sand, and take a breath. As the train passes, you stand there with arms by your side, wide-eyed, and recapping the past spit seconds. You are proud; you are happy. Relief eats away all your unstable parts. Recap, relax, and comfort dances with you.

Okay, enough of that.

Ah, the scent of summer couldn't be stronger.

Mae is INCREDABLE. simply INCREDABLE.
