I know, I'm a terrible person for not updating this thing once the exciting stuff started happening. I've got a thousand photos on my hard drive that I would like to start doling out. Also, a list of crazy things I have done, including but not limited to:
- sneaking around a deserted Chinese hospital near midnight
- getting a high-five from Carlos Boozer and then talking to Dwight Howard
- learning what a "snatch" and "clean and jerk" means
- writing more than a thousand words on the subject of Greco-Roman wrestling
- listening to opera in the Great Hall of the People (where the Chinese parliament meets)
- possibly acquiring a Chinese college student admirer
- watching Lang Lang perform about 12 feet in front of me
- eating spicy and greasy food with total disregard for my digestive health
I still hope to write in more detail at some point when I'm getting more than five hours of sleep a night, but for now, have a low-quality video I recorded tonight. Although I've yet to go inside, I've passed by the Water Cube for ten days now and I still have to resist the urge to turn my camera on every time. Tonight I was particularly moved by the gorgeous colors that kept shifting on its surface. It truly is my favorite building in the world.
