Red headed lady, reaching for an apple... she's gonna take a bite ... er, nope, nope

Ok, quick summary of July 4th weekend.

It was a complete blast!
Friday, I got PAID to go help watch kids play around at Chuck E. Cheese's. 30 bucks baby! Oh yeah! Then, after work, I went over to Nicks and we went to South Haven with Manda, Adam, Nate, Will and Betsy. We saw Jackie there when we got there, but I guess she left because Will and Jackie were getting naked together in the water ... hehehe, naughty kids. So Jess, Josh, Kirby, Tamera, Laura, Kevin, and Megan ended up meeting us there later. We grilled hot dogs and I flipped out once I saw the water and went frollicking. Hopy shit though, the set of stairs coming down the hill to the beach were freaky as hell. It was practically a 90 degree incline!!! And I am officially addicted to Boonesfarm. I drank a whole bottle practically by myself, finished off a few beers, and helped empty a few 40's. Then, I spent a half hour building sand couches for myself and Amanda. Later, Jess decided we should go skinny dipping, so her, Amanda, Nick, Nate and I all went. I was the first one in surprisingly because I was drunk and I was just like "Eh, what the hell ... if we're gonna do it, let's do it!" But the water was FREEZING once the sun went down, so I think I got a little bit of a sore throat from that. Well, Jess, Manda, and Josh went home after that. I stayed w/ the rest of them though and finished off a hidden bottle of Boonesfarm with Nick and Nate, lit a few bottlerockets, jumped over the fire and scraped the hell out of my big toe (I'm such a clutz!), and ate a piece of pizza and half of a Qdoba burrito. Nick and I decided to go home around 1:45 or so, but we had to wait to sober up first so we sat around at the top of the stairs talking for like an hour. Then, we talked the whole way home. It was great to really sit down and have a good talk with him because I remember when he used to be so shy around me ... and I look back now and it just makes me realize what a good friend he turned out to be.

Saturday, I ended up not having to work because Becky wanted to work as much as possible since her friends and boyfriend were out of town. So I gave her my shift and I ended up going with Brian to his cousin Kate's wedding. She had it at the chapel on WMU's campus, which was kind of odd, and it wasn't air conditioned, AND it was a long service. But I didn't really mind too much since I was in a super cute, cool sundress ... I actually felt pretty cute! Her reception was great though. It was in the ballroom at the Bernhardt center and it was decorated very nice. There was a huge ice pineapple in the middle of the hor'deuvre table though ... kind of odd, but cool looking. The food was great, but we didn't stay around for the dancing or anything. Afterward, we went to work so that I could pick up my tip share so I could afford gas money on the way to Jackson the next day. We ended up staying and playing checkers ... lol, but Brian got to meet a lot of the people that I work with, and he seemed to hit it off pretty well w/ Becky.

Sunday, Brian and I went to my aunt's in Jackson for my family get-together. She had a little fake Olympics ... everyone got to sign up for events and whoever won the most events was the first to pick their prize. Brian won a deck of cards and I won some cute tropical soaps ... lol. Brian fits in super well w/ my family and their crude sense of humor ... and with their competitive nature. It was good seeing my family again though. My cousin Ben is really leading a cool life. He graduated from Michigan about six years ago magna cum laude with a masters in mechanical engineering, and he lives in Arizona now and makes a six figure income. Well, he just got back from Hawaii a little while ago, and in August, he'll be going to Tibet. For Christmas, he's going to Italy or something. He's still really active, and he tore an ACL back in March, but that didn't stop him from climbing my aunt's back fence to go play the back 9 of the golf course behind her house. My uncle Steve was there too, and that was a little awkward since he just recently started coming to family reunions again. And I don't like his girlfriend (wife?) Carrie ... she just acts like she knows everything. She told my Aunt Suzanne that it's not a good idea to take baths because her doctor told her it eats away at cartilege. Riiiiggght, that's why doctors prescribe hot tubs to people who have injured limbs. Anyway, we filled up on good food, played some games with the family, sat and visited with them, and then decided to head out. The fireworks were going off right as we got back to Kalamazoo, which was kind of cool. It's too bad it was so rainy and crappy outside all day though.

This morning, Brian and I went to see Spiderman 2, and I have to say, for not seeing the first one, I thought it was really pretty good. I was kind of in a rush to get to work though, but I made it on time, so all's well with the world. I have to say, the more I work with Dierdre, the more and more I like her. And Amy went out and bought gummies for all the hostesses today. I love my job!

Anyway, I need to get some sleep because I have class at 8 am tomorrow and I have to study for my exam on Wednesday. And I guess Steve's having a party at his house tomorrow, and I have to babysit!!! Good night all! Hope everyone's 4th was awesome!
