here are my rambling thoughts about the current political climate.

watermarks for the English, French, and American revolutions:
a ruler used his power to:
Wage unsuccesfull war outside of his own nation
implemented religous doctrine on unwilling or intelligent subjects
extreme lower and middle class taxation to fund wars
debts that could not be paid for by taxation

look at the watermarks described and compare them to our current climate
George W. Bush the ruler:
has fought a war in afghanistan, and iraq which are looking unnsuccesfull today and most likely "tommorow"
wants to add an amendment to ban gay marriage rights which is strictly a christian ideology
wants to end abortion rights for women which again follows a christian ideology
tax cuts that benefited the wealthy and left the middle and lower classes undereducated and without adequate healthcare.
an astronomical debt that continues to rise and will have to be paid for by the younger generation through taxation.

is revolution on the horizon?

now, my qualifications for an adequate and effective commander-in-cheif:
highly educated
effective orator, can persuade others to follow him
has been a successfull leader in the past
understands that we are A part of the world, not the part, or apart.
must see that the middle and lower class have power in numbers and thus must be represented to the highest degree or else revolt is likely. this is a fundemental aspect of our democracy/republic/empire.

Now, WHO IS MORE QUALIFIED!
George W Bush or John F Kerry.

Both attended Yale. John Kerry acceled and participated in numerous clubs and won numerous awards for his oratory skills and was given the honor of speaking at graduation. George Bush on the other hand, just went through the system and came out with a degree.

George Bush entered the National Gaurd after college, Kerry did also, but then volunteered for active duty. George Bush missed his physical and flight intsructions, which in most cases at the time would end in immediate deployment to vietnam. George Bush did not recieve deployment but rather an honorable discharge because his father was in contact with officials in power at the time. John Kerry won 3 purple hearts for being wounded, a silver star for saving his crew, and other various ribbons.

after returning from the war Kerry met with veteran groups that were discussing what had happened in vietnam and the war crimes that had been commited. Kerry chose to represent these groups in front of the foreign relations committee and reiterated what he had been hearing from vietnam vets about atrocities. He led the anti-war movement, which we now know was the right action towards vietnam and its black-hole of american lives.

George bush started his own oil company, after leaving the national gaurd, that failed miserably and he sank into an alcoholic phase that lasted a short time. He then found god through an evangelical preacher, and ousted alcohol from his diet. He ran for office shortly there after and lost. He was then placed as the figure head of the proposition to reform the rangers baseball team and the surrounding area where the stadium was located. He waved and smiled for cameras while others were making decisions. He made 10 million dollars being "the face".

Kerry Also ran for office, but was also defeated. He went into private law practice where he was highly succesfull and was praised for his skill and understanding of the law. Kerry then ran for the senate. He has been in the senate for 20 years fighting for a balanced budget, and a peacefull, diplomatic solution to all conflicts. Experience is not an issue for John Kerry.

G. W. Bush ran for gov. in texas against a highly popular incumbant. HE WON. but critics say, as well as supporters, that bush used tactics in his campaign that were unethical and relied on the idiocy of the constituants. for example: he claimed that random murder was escalating at an enormous rate in texas and that something had to be done, this was false because the numbers at the time showed crime falling over a number of years. None-the-less he won and brought education and tax reform to texas with bi-partisan appeal. His crucial support came from the far right evangelical christians.

George Bush was elected in 2000 amid vast speculation of fraud and voter disenfranchisement.
His legitemacy was tarnished from the beginning of his term. Then he cut taxes, did not fund his education bill, waged war on a sovergn iraq against mass protest. Now he looms over a decrepit state of affairs.

I ask you, who do you think will lead us into the future of human prosperity, instead of reducing us to past mistakes?
