Getting the car

::I ran down the street heading towards Nicole's house.I could see Nicole's house from where I was and could see that the Viper was still there. Which was a good thing. That means I could call Nicole and ask her if I could borrow it, sine you know it's still there to be borrowed. I dialed Nicole's cell number as I got to her place and searched my ( Read more... )

I nibbled on my burger, still not feeling totally at ease with the current situation. I had absentmindedly been chewing at my straw each time I took a sip from my coke, rendering the straw now useless. (Chewing on the straw was better than chweing at my nails) I think I took in more bits of white and red plastic rather than actual food.

After crumpling the bag shut, I set it in the space between the driver and passenger side seats then sink down into my chair and cross my arms. Staring out the window, I begin to blow bubbles into my drink with my broken straw.

The awkward silence in the car was broken by bubbles being blown into a soft drink. This situation reminded me of a cartoon--where a given character tries to go to sleep, only to have that plan canned due to the sound of a leaky faucet. Like the leaking faucet, the sound of the bubbles begin blown was magnified 100 times over in my ear. I had heightened hearing to being with--always have--but this was insane. I wanted to scream, but managed to refrain from acting on this desire. Sitting in one spot for too long always did make me a bit twitchy ( ... )

::I finished up my burger and glanced over at Nicole who wasn't looking all that happy. She barely ate her food and this is Nicole and I when we have the opportunity to eat good food we take it. Buffy is a bad cook and I am sure Cordy isn't much better at it. I looked in the mirror and noticed Abby who was just sitting in the backseat. I still wasn't sure about that girl. I mean she knows my last name and I didn't tell her it and the whole thing about Nicole it just doesn't work. But I am more worried about Nicole. She is hardly ever quiet but after the drive and stuff, I guess I can go back to her place for a bit or something and talk to her. After all it has been awhile since we just really talked. Sure I stayed the night but it was more to do the research thing then girls night. But I was glad when Nicole turned on the radio. Took away that whole silence deal::

"M&M's?" Then Nicole glanced her back a look, then turned back round in her seat "Ohhh! They rap!"::Okay I kinda gave my own lil look to Nicole once she said they rap... ( ... )

I got outta the car, leaving the door open for Abby...if she decided to tag along. Which--she did. The car was banged up pretty bad, so what did that say for whoever was inside? I tiptoed over and around bits of metal and glass that had littered the street. Luckily when the car bit the dust, it did so leaving the drivers side door facing upward. Walking around to the front of the truck, I bend down slightly and peer in through the windshield.

Oh my God...

"Gunn! I-it's Gunn!"

I worked my way back over to the side of the car, with the truck on it's side, it was hard to get at the door, let alone manage to get it open.

"Dawn call 9-1---" I trail off once hearing sirens in the distance. "Never mind. Gunn?! Gunn!!" Now back at the front of the truck by the windshield, I knock on the glass. I would have done so harder, but I was afraid the glass might break further. Didn't want shards of glass to add to his injuries...

I felt helpless....how long had he been here---like this?

"Gunn...?" I whispered as I approached the over turned vehicle. Gunn was trapped under all that twisted metal and glass? The Gunn I know was a superb driver. Something did this. He wasn't all there mentally to let something like this happen ( ... )
