Carly had stopped at The Pump for some caffinated goodness on her lunch break, which was a little longer than usual today because of the sheer hours she was working. Her hair was pulled back into a loose pony, and she had on a rather plain set of blue scrubs, although the sweet, adorable grin on her face made it hard to notice anything she was actually wearing.
Humming a little to herself as she sipped her coffee, she noticed Wesley sitting along and gave a whimsical little wave to him. She didn't know him personally, but recognized him from the OSI meetings and such.
Wesley looked up and waved back to Carly when she walked in. While he didn't know her personally, he had seen her around the office at his 'night' job. It seemed that all of them lived off of coffee these days, usually putting in so much overtime and all.
He smiled and joined her at her table. "Coffee breaks are better when you have someone to talk to," he agreed with her. "Have you already been at work all day? They're trying to work you to exhaustion, aren't they?"
"It's always good to hear that a doctor loves her job," Wesley said with a laugh. "I'm Wesley Wyndam-Pryce," he told her, offering his hand out to her to shake.
"Ohmygod..." her mouth made a little 'o' shape as she heard his name, as if just remembering how she knew him. "Are you alright? I heard about... what happened to you with that former SIT..."
He cringed a little when she asked about that. He would probably go down in the handbooks as the Watcher who got tortured by a potential turned vampire. How fortunate for him. "I'm alright. I'd be surprised if everyone hadn't heard about it by now." The girl had been the talk of the office before her own dusting. Only his passing out from blood loss had kept him from dancing on her ashes, especially since he *still* didn't quite have all the feeling back in the arm that she skewered with a screwdriver.
Carly's eyes immediately went all puppy-dog with sympathy, and she placed a petite hand on his.
"Nononono... don't be embarrassed! How could you have done anything? You're so lucky to even still be here! I'm just glad you're alright... our jobs can be so dangerous, especially yours."
He unconciously flexed his arm as he sighed. "I know that I'm lucky to still be here." Didn't stop the nightmares, though. "Our jobs can be very dangerous. What do they have you working on, now?"
"Nothing terribly exciting..." The young doctor sighed cutely. "Taking apart cadavers of a few hostiles that were captured over the last few weeks for research, but nothing I haven't done like, a zillion times."
She grinned and sipped her coffee.
"And you? How are things with your Potential going?"
Wesley was never one to like dissection, but he supposed he could see how it could get boring if that's what you did pretty much every day. However, to him, exciting usually meant that something bad was happening.
"Things are going fine with Gwen." He almost never referred to her as 'his potential.' It kind of made her sound like a piece of property to him. He took a sip of his coffee. "She's happy and still doing well with her training. Could I ask for much more?"

Carly smiled sweetly, motioning to the seat across from her.
