Lana had settled near one of the candles, away from the snack table, and sipped at her soda. She glanced around at the gathered people, but seemed content to relax for now.
Alex drifted over to examine the items she'd set down - the case of soda in particular. It was a case of orange soda - 24 cans, according to the exterior. It looked as though someone had resealed one end of the case closed with masking tape. Alex started cautiously picking at the tape, something about this bothering him. A couple of cans of orange soda spilled out. It looked like there was more in the case. Alex picked up a can and turned it over in his hands, staring at it as if he hadn't seen orange soda before. Oddly, it looked like there was a false bottom behind the cans -- there were actually only twelve cans in the case.
Alex frowned. He had too many things to do at once - watch the girl who had brought the soda, get the short guy to come and do something about what was under the false bottom, keep people from panicking and get out of the blast radius (just in case).
He glanced towards Nick - and crooked a finger to try and get him over here, while still keeping his eyes on the 'palm-reader.'
