Daniel was there, of course, and he was cheerfully eating a slice of pizza. "Think anyone'll show?"

"Hope so," Valentine said. "If not though, it doesn't matter because my favorite person is already here."

He rested his head on Daniel's shoulder. "I wonder if my agent's going to get me a birthday present, though?"

"Maybe. What would he bring you, though?" Daniel asked, amused.

[vavarner]

"Well, considering last time he brought me you... I'm not really sure. I don't know how he could top that," Valentine said, grinning.

He petted Daniel's hair with the hand that wasn't greasy from pizza-eating.

"An Asian boy with an eight-foot katana?" Daniel guessed.

[vavarner]

Valentine laughed. "No, Alan knows I'm not in the market for another guy. Unless he's a bodyguard. He could guard our bodies."

[hippiehitch]

"But could he beat up a bear?" Daniel asked, now interested.

[vavarner]

"If he was a blackbelt, probably," Valentine mused. "Maybe he got me an Asian boy with an eight foot katana and a black belt."

[hippiehitch]

"What if he preferred belts made of chains or something? Some people do, you know," Daniel said cheerfully.

[vavarner]

"That might make him extra scary," Valentine said, grinning.

He glanced towards the door a moment, then shrugged. "I don't think anyone else is coming. Well, guess that's more pizza, cake and chocolate for us."

"Aw," Daniel said. "Who else did you invite?"

[vavarner]

"Sherry, Nica, Juice - all the kids from the movie," Valentine said. "Plus a couple of people I just know from around school. And Alan, of course."

He shrugged like it didn't bother him, but it did just a little.

"Ahhh... jerks," Daniel said, shaking his head.

[vavarner]

"Yeah... but it's okay. I have you, that's all I need," Valentine said, and drew Daniel into a kiss.
