Oz was really feeling diner food at the moment and, never one to ignore a craving, he pulled into Sid's to go rectify the situation.
He went up to the counter and grabbed a seat a few stools down from a girl in a Santa hat. Recognizing her as the nice waitress from his meeting with "the band" (he'd taken to thinking about them in quotes since everything seemed pretty up in the air and almost... fictional... at the moment), he said, "The Christmas spirit is most admirable."
"And yet, who doesn't love a good leaf crown?" Oz said with a nod. "Here's my seasonal good cheer." He lifted up his hands, showing her his fingernails, each one painted alternately red and green.
"Oh, that's cute! I'd say that you put more work into your nails than I do, but I bet you figured that out already."
Dot grinned and held up her own hands and their unpainted nails. She made sure to always keep them neatly trimmed, but that was all.
"Health concerns, they say, especially in my line of work. I've never bothered painting them anyway -- I was always digging in the garden or something."
"That might help me blend in better at the Sunset," she mused. "Then all I'd have to do is dress all in black and write really bad poetry and they'd take me in as one of them." She grinned, shaking her head.
"It's my home away from home, usually. The food's great, the staff is friendly, and the natives keep to themselves!"
Dot stifled a yawn. "I haven't been there as much lately -- I've been working a lot and then I've either been home asleep, or up at the hospital. I have a..friend in there, recovering from an attack."
Grinning, she added, "You mean I don't look the type?"
Dot shook her head, laughing. "Really? You could have fooled me, lately. I'm just not even sure how I'm managing to stay awake, these days. Thank goodness there's no school to worry about."
She waved to Chloe. "Oh, there you are. I thought you'd dropped into a hole full of candy and didn't want to come out."
Dot shook her head. "You weren't interrupting anything. We were just talking. This is ..um." She trailed off. "We haven't been introduced, mister. I'm Dot, and this is my friend Chloe."

"Oh, thanks! We're not required to wear them, but most everyone on staff is anyway. Besides, my leaf crown isn't seasonal enough."

Chloe had JUST walked in, just in time to hear that little exchange.
"Which, you don't. You look more like you should be on a cheerleading team."

"Oh my my... sweety's if I *could* find a hole of candy to fall into, I'd never need another man."
Not always the sharpest tool in the proverbial shed, she blinked as she noticed Oz sitting there.
"Ooops. Sorry for interupting..."
