Who: Rebecca OT anyone at the Lee House
When: Around 3:30 am, December 9th.
Where: The Lee Household
Rebecca dragged herself to the front door, at first worried that she didn't have her key. Then she looked down at her tattered stockings, ripped clothes, and the scratches on her arms - souvenirs for the past three months.
At first, she thought she'd be missed. Her father - "Antler Man," as her mother called him - abducted her in the fall. Someone would notice she was missing. Instead, she learned from his servants that he had placed a changeling - a lesser fairy creature - in her place. Another creature, living her life, dealing with her friends, sleeping in her bed, in the house with her own mother . . .
That only intensified her need to escape. It took three weeks of watching the ways of her father's bestial court, learning the personality quirks of the guards that were used to keep her in line, and trying to learn the best passage from Faerie to Sunnydale. Not an easy thing, but Reba learned patience. And tonight, it all came to a head. She even managed to escape with one of her father's swords - a curved, jagged thing that vaguely resembled a sharpened moose antler, but much more thin. She'd had to learn to use it when she was there.
So not having a key? Really not a big problem.
Reba touched the door knob with the index finger on her left hand, and was rewarded with a satisfying click as the lock opened itself. Her power had grown a bit stronger while in Faerie, and now the iron traps in the house didn't interfere.
The fae girl poked her head into the entry room, and then quietly padded up the stairs to her bedroom. She noticed then some odd scents - she differentiate between Cassie and her mother. That was new. But there were two other strong scents - one she couldn't identify, but one she could clearly perceive was her own. The Changeling.
The bedroom door was locked, but again that served no problem for Rebecca. Quietly, the lock opened, and she slowly swung the door open in order to silence it as much as she could. She could see her doppleganger sitting up in the bed, looking at her with slightly luminescent eyes. Rebecca wondered if her own eyes did the same thing, now.
"I'm here to take my life back, bitch," Rebecca hissed at the Changeling.
"If I kill you, it's my life," the fake Rebecca answered. "I've been so well behaved and doing so well at school, I live your life better than you do."
"No," Rebecca answered with a smile. She leapt from the door to the bed, her muscles having developed more from three months in the feral lands of her father. To her surprise, she slammed into the changeling hard, knocking both of them onto the floor with a loud thud.
The Changeling raked her hands down Reba's face, drawing blood in thin red lines. Rebecca felt a growl escape her, and punched the Changeling in the stomach as hard as she could. The fae creature gasped at the blow, and its' image wavered. It pushed Rebecca off of it, sending her back into the vanity on the wall, knocking various tubes of make-up and perfume onto the floor. Rebecca righted herself, and shook her head to block out the pain. She drew the sword from the sheath on her back, and the Changeling gasped.
"You recognize this?" Rebecca asked almost mockingly. "It's the sword of you never ever coming back."
The Changeling howled in rage and tried to run for the door. Rebecca tackled the creature, and then plunged the sword into it's chest. With an inhuman howl, the creature began to dissipate. Rebecca spit at where it's body lay.
"If you do wind up back in Faerie, tell my father to go fuck himself."
