Katie headed into the Espresso Pump, intent on getting a cocoa, but noticed Kya and took a detour in her direction.

Kya smiled, and waved to Katie.

"Hi, Katie! How are you today?"

Alex smiled. "Hi Katie... sit down."

He thought that her and Kya had some certain fangy things in common and were likely about to discuss. "Is it okay if I stay?"

"It's fine with me." Kya said, cheerfully

"I'm alright... how are you? Are you feeling better?" Katie asked, settling down at the table. She didn't seem to mind Alex's presence.

"Yep. I'm fine." Kya smiled "How are you?"

"I'm okay. I was just wanting to know if you were feeling better now, after ... has Dru been back to bother you again since?" Katie inquired.

[creepycheerful]

"No." Kya replied "I haven't seen her, so hopefully, she's moved on to something else. Thanks for helping. You and those other two girls. It was real nice of you."

Katie nodded. "I'm hoping so. I gave her her doll back, so at least she has someone to talk to."

If not for the fact that Dru had a bad habit of nearly killing her social companions, Katie thought, she'd have a much easier time of making friends. She was crazy and violent, certainly, but that described about half of the girls she knew, so...

"I don't think she's going to give it up entirely until she finds someone she can have a conversation with that doesn't have a good chance of ending with a dead body."

"Well, I tried to get Spike to talk to her again, but he's so stubborn, and he's a little mad at her." Kya shrugged "I'm guessing another vampire is her best bet."

Katie nodded. "The problem being that she'd probably have to make one..."

Kya frowned a little.

"Yep. Hope it doesn't have to come to that though."

"There's some vampires in town that would talk to her," Alex said, having a feeling about this one.

"There's even some fresh ones, looking for a mentor. It happens. I mean, not that a crazy vampire is a good mentor - but it's better than being newborn and alone."

"Hmmm. Maybe they could be introduced to each other?" Katie said, looking thoughtful.

"Well good." Kya smiled "It's all going to workout nicely, then."

"Maybe," Alex said, finishing off the last of his muffin. "I suppose that all depends on whether she finds a little vampire to adopt, or makes a new friend and doesn't eat said friend or whatever."
