Who: Larry, Nica, Sherry, Anna, Katie, Tina
Where: Espresso Pump
When: Friday
Larry was hanging out at the Espresso pump, having a cup of coffee and looking semi-bored.
Nica was working on a paper for her English class.
Sherry was hanging out there too, handing out invitations to people it looked like she went to school with. "Excuse me." she said to Larry "Please, take this invitation."
Anna was hanging with Nica.
Katie was also there, because she wanted cocoa and people had been saying to stay away from the diner.
Larry took the invitation, read it over, and smiled a bit. "Hey... thanks."
"You're welcome." Sherry smiled "I'm rather new to your school... so, I'm hopeful that I'll meet a lot of nice people."
Tina looked happy to be with Katie.
"Mmmm..." Katie closed her eyes, inhaling cocoa scent and looking cutely blissful. "They really do make it better here."
"You're really cute." Tina said, smiling
"Hmm?" Katie opened her eyes.
"Oh yeah? I was wondering why I didn't see you around before," Larry said. "I'm Larry - welcome to Sunnydale."
Larry was still trying at that whole being nice thing. He was getting better!
Nica looked up at Anna. "I hope it's going to be a nice weekend. With, you know ... no explosions."
"I'm Sherry." she said "And thank you for that kind welcome. You can bring any friends that you want to the party."
"You were really cute just now." Tina said "With the cocoa and the smiling..."
"No explosions." agreed Anna
"Oh... thanks." Katie smiled.
"... I don't really have a lot of friends right now," Larry admitted. He'd been having some problems getting the guys to accept his new lifestyle.
"Well, that's a coincidence." Sherry said "Neither do I. So, come to the party all by your lonesome, and we'll see if we can find you a few new friends."
Nica smiled. "You're all better now, right ... ?"
"Whatya working on?" asked Anna, to Nica
"This has been a good weekend so far." Tina said, to Katie
"It has. It's nice to be with you, and not worried about things," Katie agreed.
Larry smiled. "Thanks. I'll definitely be there."
"I'm writing an essay." She wrinkled her nose. "We got an assignment for Thanksgiving break in English, how lame is that?"
"I'm going to hand out a few more invitations." Sherry said "But how about you sit over there with me and my relatives?" she pointed to the Anna and Nica table.
"It's really nice." Tina said
"Oh.. sure, if they don't mind." Larry knew Anna, but he didn't know Nica really well.
"They won't" Sherry said, heading over to Tina and Katie.
"And much better than being alone for Thanksgiving," Katie agreed, then looked up at Sherry.
"Hello, please, take this invitation... for the both of you." Sherry said, handing Katie an invitation.
Katie took it. "Thanks!" She took a look.
Larry collected his coffee, and got up to head over to the table. "Hey Anna... hey Nica. Mind if I hang out?"
"You're welcome." Sherry said "I'm new to your school, so hopefully a lot of nice people will come. I hope to see both of you there."
"Yeah, be our guest," Nica said.
"Alright, sounds good," Katie said, and tucked the invitation into her pocket.
"You two have a nice time." Sherry went around, handing out more invitations to people
"Thanks," Larry said, sitting at their table and trying not to feel awkward.
"Huh." Katie looked to Tina.
"...That was strange." Tina said
"Yeah. It's for a block party," Katie said. "Think it's safe?"
"So, uh.. how's everyone doing?" Larry asked.
"Hey, Larry." Anna said
"I don't know..." Tina said "Do you want to go? It just seems weird."
"Good," Nica said. "Trying to get homework out of the way so I can be lazy for the rest of the weekend. How are you?"
"Sure... I mean, maybe. It might be fun," Katie said.
"Ok..." Tina said "Then I'll go with you. If it's not fun, we could just leave, right?"
"Right," Katie agreed.
"I'm okay... a little tired of turkey sandwiches. I think my gran made the biggest turkey she could find. It's just the two of us, so I don't know why she went so big," Larry said.
"Your gran seems like a nice lady." Anna said "What else did you have?"
"She's really nice," Larry said, nodding in agreement to Anna. "We had stuffing, yams, corn, green bean casserole, and pumpkin and apple pie for dessert. It was delicious."
"Sounds awesome," Nica said.
"That sounds good." agreed Anna "I had dinner with Michael and Ming. I helped by chopping and stirring."
"And it's nice to socialize with others," Katie said. "I'm not good at that sometimes."
"I'm not either." admitted Tina "I usually do something to mess up things with people that I meet."
"Well, that just means we've got something in common," Katie said.
"Did they have a lot of people over?" Larry asked.
"Kinda" Anna said "Club employees and friends."
"Having stuff in common is a good thing." Tina said
Katie nodded. "Definitely. So what do you want to do after we finish here?"
"Uh... we can.. I think the movie theater is still open." Tina suggested
"Ooh - is anything good playing?" Katie asked.
"Hmm... I don't know. We'll find something." Tina assured
"Alright, then," Katie said, smiling happily.
"Well, I trust ya'll are getting along?" asked Sherry, returning to her table
Larry nodded. "Yeah, no problems. Thanks again for inviting me to your party."
"Not a problem. I'm having it catered, so it should be nice."
"You going to have music?" Larry asked.
"Yes, I think." Sherry said "I've talked to a young man that manages a band- and if that fails, I'll just hire a DJ."
"Cool," Larry said. "Should be nice."
"I hope so. It's my first party and all- if something goes wrong, it's likely to kill any chance I have of a social life." said Sherry
Larry grinned. "Well, you've got music, food, and nice invitations. That's a good start, right? All you need is some cool people to show up and it'll rock."
Katie blew on her cocoa and took a sip. Ah, bliss.
"Oh good." smiled Sherry "I was worried I'd have to come up with activities, or something."
