Jonathan had invited Catherine out to get some caffeinated goodness - and also, so they could talk about what had happened at the Harvest Festival. He'd been wanting to have the talk for a while, but fearing it at the same time. He knew that things wouldn't be right between them until they got the awkward talk out of the way - because he was pretty sure that Catherine was thinking about the same thing he was thinking about, but it was equally hard for her to mention it.
He'd paid for their drinks and some of those tasty muffins, and brought them over to a quiet table in the corner. He hoped they'd be able to have the conversation relatively undisturbed - but as he noticed a lot of people milling about, he wondered if maybe they shouldn't have had this talk somewhere more private. Well, no going back on it now. He was determined to get it over with.
"So um, about that Harvest Festival," Jonathan began rather lamely.
