Mikka had gotten a call from her uncle to meet him at The Espresso Pump and she couldn't help but be completely curious why he was here. In Sunnyhell. She liked referring to the town as that because really, that's what it was. It was ridiculous and even though she was trying to make the best of it, she was really missing home.
She walked in and glanced around, trying to spot the familiar face. She smiled slightly when she saw him. She rushed over and jumped in place next to him before sitting down at the table he was at, "Hey!"
"I'm doin' pretty good," She grinned, "How about you? It's pretty weird tryin' to adjust and all. I miss Dallas. I knew everything and everyone there. Well, not everyone...but a lot of people." Mikka laughed softly.
"You should." said Bill "I know I'm just your uncool uncle, but you've got a chance to be whoever you want at this new school. You could run for homecoming queen if you wanted. No one really knows who you are."
"Hey, don't down yourself. You're the cool uncle. Uncle Wes is the dud!" She giggled. "Homecoming queen?" Mikka repeated, shaking her head, "I dunno about that one...I'm not into all the frilly stuff that comes with it. I think I'd rather be the basketball star."
"Well, it would get your name out there." said Bill "If you are serious about playing basketball, let me know. I'll try to secure a coach to make sure you get on the team. Has anything else interesting happened in school?"
"Definitely a go on the basketball thing. Hook me up!" Mikka grinned. "As far as other stuff at school...not really. I mean, like I said, I haven't talked to many people yet. Just this one girl, Fannie...she's kinda weird. She and her friends are like...color coordinated by the day and never go anywhere by themselves."
"Well... I don't understand the color coordination, but it is a very bad idea to go out on your own at night in this town." Bill said "It's full of vampires, so you have to be really careful so you don't get eaten."
Bill spoke in a lower voice, so only Mikka could hear him.
"Which is why I want you to make a lot of friends. The more people you surround yourself with, the less chance of you going somewhere alone."
"I think the color coordination is just them being weird." Mikka laughed a little. She let out a slight groan at the mention of Vampires. "Ugh. The V-word? Really now... Is this about work or something?"
"Something like that." said Bill "Just be careful, okay? You're my niece, so I don't want your Mom calling me, and telling me that you were found with two holes in your neck... and if you told me what was going on in school, that would help with things a lot."
"Ick. Work." She made a fake gagging face, then straightened up. "Well, that's not happening. I know how to watch myself. And anyway, as much as I'd love to tell you what's going on, there's nothing. At least...nothing I've noticed so far." She sighed a little, "Is this the part where I get told I have to start talking to people and being the little popular girl and find out all the weird stuff that's rumored or actually going on at school?"
She walked in and glanced around, trying to spot the familiar face. She smiled slightly when she saw him. She rushed over and jumped in place next to him before sitting down at the table he was at, "Hey!"

Bill did seem concerned about his niece. Really, he did.
