"Welll.... good news is my Dad said yes to the van as long as I don't use it to 'party'," Jonathan said.
And then he made a horrified face. "The bad news is he told me this story about he used to have a party van... and he and my mom used to hang out in it... and... I was apparently conceived in the back of it."
"Well, you can't fit flamethrowers and chain guns in a hatchback," Warren said firmly. "So a van's preferable. Though if nothing else, I still say we could just try to find some vampires with a van and take it from them."
"If my dad's giving me money for a van, we could just take that money... and get a van from vampires and then we'd have money AND a van."
He felt kinda guilty about plotting to lie to his parents, but they did have a lot of projects to fund and very little money with which to accomplish their goals.
Warren nodded. "Now you're thinking, Jonnyboy." He patted Maya on the rear. "Which reminds me -- we've got to get you combat-trained, girl. Teach you how to protect. You've got serving down already."
"I got some good news and bad news..."

He shuddered. "I so never wanted to know that."

"My mom thinks I'm too short to have a van - she wants me to get a Honda hatchback or something. What the heck would we fit in one of those?"
