Darth Vader was framed

Who: Tina and Gwen
Where: Weatherly Park
When: Tuesday Afternoon

Tina sat on a bench in Weatherly Park, wondering if this would be another afternoon alone. She'd managed to screw up everything with a couple of groups of people- and the school year had just started. She was beginning to wonder if she should just pretend to be someone else, and start over again,

For once, Gwen was happy. Not just a 'yay-I-got-laid' happy, or a 'I-just-kicked-someone's-ass' happy, but a genuine happy. It was a gorgeous day, so before leaving school, Gwen quickly changed into her favorite bicycle shorts, a pair of knee-high socks, a pair of Chuck Taylors, and a 'DARTH VADER WAS FRAMED' tank top. Her book bag slung over her shoulder, she was walking through the park, wasting time until she was due at Skylar's house, when she noted the girl sitting there, looking about ten shades of bummed. "Yo... you ok, girlie?"

"It was a conspiracy." she said "They were all against Darth Vader. He never had a chance." She looked the other girl up and down, then waved. "I'll be okay when I get a new identity."

Gwen snickered at the girl's comment, and sauntered over to her. "A new identity? Damn, if I had a nickel for every time I wanted one of those... so, before I go SuperNerd and start complaining about how badly Lucas made Vader look like Tarkin's bitch in Episode 4, wanna tell me who ya are, and why you look like someone just shit in your cereal?"

"I'm Tina, and I think I ruined any chance of ever having a social life in high school... and yeah. Lucas was really rude to Vader. Vader could have a lot of depth, but instead, he looked like a Pansy boy in that movie... I'm kinda a Darth vader fan..."

"Ok, babe? First things first." Gwen laughed and gave the girl a playful nudge. "Just being into Star Wars? And at least SEEMING cool? You're on your way to having at least one friend. As for a social life? Trust me. It's totally overrated." Cutely enough, Gwen was trying to comfort her. "At my last school? I was in with the popular people. It was boring as HELL. Here? I hang with basically a bunch of nerds. Most fun I've had in my life."

"This is my third school." admitted Tina "And... you don't think I'm a lost cause because I like Star Wars? I'm not nerd, though. I'm just an outcast." She seemed glad for the company, and a little bit happier.

"Oh, you're only a lost cause if you're determined to hang with the jocks-and-bitches crowd. You'd fit in great with me and my peeps." Gwen finally sat down near her on a big rock, her extra agility enabling her to basically curl up with feline grace. "For the record, I'm Gwen. I was named after Queen Gueneveire, so, my nerd ticket was pretty much punched as a baby."

"I wasn't named after anyone." admitted Tina "And... you think your peeps would like me?"

She watched Gwen as she sat on the rock. "Are you a dancer?" Tina asked "Because you're really flexible."

"Oh please." The blonde gave a fairly... un-ladylike laugh there, and waved her hand. "Let's see: you're charming, female, hot, and like cool stuff. Yeah, I think you'll fit in fine." Gwen stopped there, at the question about her flexibility. She wasn't about to go into the slayer-stuff yet, no chance. "Nah. Nothing like that. What can I say... I guess years of being slutty combined with being experimental results in stuff like that."

"You think I'm hot?" Tina smiled "Blonds usually hate me, so I kinda expected you to be mean. This is a nice surprise. It's good that you're not going to be my arch enemy."

"Girl, trust me when I say that if I wasn't completely dedicated to my girlfriend, you'd be beating me off with a stick right now." Gwen paused, and made a cute, wincing face. "Ok, thank god I'm not a guy, or that 'beating me off' comment would have come out SO wrong."

Tina laughed a little. "Yeah, but sometimes it's fun to sound wrong. Life is confusing at times, and that's off topic. Um.. What grade are you in? I'm a junior."

"Senior, here. Just waiting to get outta that damn place." She laughed, and blew a stray pink strand of hair from her eyes. "Don't get me wrong, I love my friends, but it's like all the parts of school I love keep leaving."

"Something's wrong with the school anyway." said Tina "But I'm only a junior... It sucks that your favorite parts of the school leave. I hope you like your locker, at least. Mine is kind of nice. It's really cozy."

"See, here's the problem, for me." Gwen gave a superdramatic sigh. "Last year was the bomb, because me and my best friend were in a bunch of classes together, and just hit on each other and everyone within earshot all day. And she was seeing our super-young, super-hot Lit teacher. Which made HIS class awesome. But then he quit when his band got signed to a label, and she up and vanished a few months ago, pretty much breaking my heart AND his."

"That's terrible." Tina frowned "Have you gone to look for her? I, um... sorta get it. I got into a lot of trouble at my last school."

"Nobody knows where she went. Not even her brother. Shame is, it kinda ruined my relationship with her ex, too... because it kinda made everything all awkward. And it sucks, because his band is totally tight, and he's easy on the eyes. But between losing the two of them, and then her brother going kinda Dark Side, and my father deciding to toss me on my sweet little ass... my whole life has changed recently." Gwen paused again, shaking her head with a laugh. "And I swear I'm not bitching. I'm trying to show you things can change. I mean, things SUCKED for me. But now? I found some really good friends, and I'm dating probably the coolest, hottest girl I could ask for."

"Is her brother hot? Um." Tina blinked for a second, and tried to make up for what she just said "I mean... It's nice to look at hot people and it's good things changed for you. Looks like you deserve good things. Maybe she'll show up again one day."

Annnnd, that made Gwen crack up laughing. "Ash? Well, I guess it's all in one's opinion. He's ok-looking, but a little scrawny for my taste."

"Oh." Tina nodded "I'm not allowed to date anyway..." she shrugged "At least all of your friends have a really nice person like you thats nice to weirdos in the park."

"Weirdos rule, yo. Normalcy is way overrated." Gwen replied with a loud chuckle. "And you're a junior and can't date? Holy shit... I think I'd be in a clock tower with a rifle if that was ME."

"I got in a lot of trouble with boyfriends last year, so my Grandma said I need to stay away from dating until I control impulses better." Tina sighed "So, I just have to sneak around."

"Well... trust me. Once you're able to date without fear of getting your ass kicked by an old woman, I'll totally get you the hookup." Gwen smirked, giving that 'so sweet you know it's bullshit' grin.
old woman, I'll totally get you the hookup." Gwen smirked, giving that 'so sweet you know it's bullshit' grin.

"I'd just have to sneak around." Tina shrugged, and looked at the ground

"Sneaking around sucks, dude." Gwen sighed, trying to think of a way to help. "Anything we can do to try and make yer grams wise up?"

Tina thought about it for a moment before answering. "I don't think so... I screwed up pretty badly. She probably just needs a little time to realize I'm a better person. I think I am anyway. It'll be cool just to have friends that I haven't pissed off yet."

"So... what'd ya do, anyway?" Gwen gave that mischievous grin she was so well known for, and settled in to listen. "Cos I'm thinking we could exchange MAD stories."

Tina smirked a little, obviously she didn't feel very bad about what she had done. "I had a crush on a guy... so I stole him from his girlfriend, but I kinda had a girlfriend at the time. It pissed a couple of people off, so I pulled a few pranks on them. No one was hurt... so it's not too bad, right?"

"Of course not." Gwen almost gave a 'pshaw' there, and cracked a wide grin. "Come on... what's life without some pranks? If nobody got hurt, no big, right?"

"Exactly" Tina smiled "She's worried I'll do something like that here, and she doesn't want me to getting trouble again.. which is why I'd have to sneak around. Pranks are fun, anyway."

"I remember pouring sugar in my uncle's gas tank as a girl." Gwen cackled at the memory. "Seriously, he was RIPSHIT over it."

"That sounds fun." Tina smiled "I covered the benches in the locker room with iodine once... all of the girls got pretty mad at me."

"So... what's a girl with a super-harsh grams do for fun?" Gwen leaned back for a moment to stretch, bending almost totally backwards before curling back up with a yawn.

"Nothing right now." said Tina, after watching Gwen stretch. "I tried making friends, and causing trouble... but it's not really much fun in this town."

"Shit, this town blows like a cheap ho." The SIT grinned and gave a conspiratorial look around. "If your grams would let you hang out with friends, I can bring you 'round my peeps, bring some booze... we could have a good old time."

"I can socialize." said Tina "Just no dating, or sleeping over... and I have to be home by one thirty, or she comes looking for me... But, I'd like hanging out with your friends."

"Yeah, we'll help ya out. Eventually, she'll give you more freedom." Gwen gave a devilish grin. "Then we'll help you make up for lost time by getting totally buck wild."

Tina smiled "That'll be lots of fun. It's boring being good. Do you- do you want my phone number?"

"Sure. I'll give you a call tomorrow." With an almost blushy grin, Gwen looked away. "I'm about to go see my girlfriend, and hopefully do things people usually write to Penthouse Letters about."

"Most of the people in Penthouse lie." said Tina "So, you'll just be doing what they WISH they were doing." The teen pulled a sheet of paper out of her backpack, and scribbled down a phone number.

Gwen took the paper from her and gave a mocking sigh. "Ah, I never thought I'd see the day I was getting a hot girls number, and NOT thinking of it as a booty call."

"You've got a girlfriend." Tina shrugged "I don't want to piss off a new friend, so I'm going to say go to her and have fun. Have a booty call when you're single." She never thought she would say that to someone- but she didn't want to screw up the making friends thing this time. "Just.. call me, and don't betray me. I get kinda mad when people stab my back."

"Babe... trust me when I say I don't betray anyone." She found it oddly amusing that the girl misunderstood her last statement, but left it alone. "Once I befriend someone, they're stuck with me until they get sick of me."

"Good." said Tina "Everyone needs friends like that."

"Well, congratu-fuckin'-lations, babe. You got one." Gwen hopped up swiftly, gave that little grin of hers again, and waved. "I'll call ya tomorrow. I promise. If nothing else, you can chill with me and my girl."

"Thanks." Tina smiled "I'll see you tomorrow."
