Gil had taken advantage of the 'church hour' to take over the usual table, plus one more table and some chairs. He'd eaten lunch then set to work. Since he'd brought a good portion of his notes with him, it was fairly easy to recreate his map from home with a map he'd picked up at the gas station. He focused mainly on the West and Southwest, since that's where he was now. Besides, the East Coast had more urban legends than UFO sightings, in his experience. He did include some of his crop circle data -- that was very relevant. He'd been up all night organizing this, but he was too keyed-up to sleep after walking Kayla home. Besides,he reasoned, it would save time if everyone had access to everything.
Once he was finished with the map, he ordered another Coke and pulled out his well-worn copy of Communion. Even if nobody wandered by, he felt better for making the first effort. His remaining homework could wait a few hours.
